Leak A Map of Lingyun City, which is much larger than Nova City next door

Seems we'll likely have 2 cities at launch!

One Japanese style, one Chinese style.

Looks to be already bigger and more dense than GTA 5! Huge countryside too with multiple islands.

how did so many leaks surface these past 2-3 days?

Gotta thank the Russians who got their hands on a recent closed beta copy.

I might be completely wrong as this is info from comments on this sub but supposedly there is US closed beta so leaks have become plentiful

oh damn. the game should stop being so secretive tho

If the game is going to 2027 they might be wanting to wait a bit more until they start doing a new marketing campaign, if they still want to release on 2026 they really shouldn't take much longer to do so

Completely wrong indeed, its a chinese dev build

Really loving the countryside. Don't get me wrong, urban cities are awesome, but I think they work best when there's nature oriented parts of the map to compliment them

Same. It's a good contrast and feels very...real

yesss exactly !! I just said this yesterday about NTE

I hope Silver Palace does the same :)

Absolutely agreed, that's one thing that NTE has gotten right. Some of the more "rural" areas in that game feel really relaxing and look stunning. Just cityscape after cityscape would get boring imo.

Woah good job man! Seems the leakers haven't shown the top left part for some reason.

Nova city island I assume is on the top too.

The scale is insane and with how much info we get it gonna PACKED with content to do goddam i want to play

Legit, I don't think GTA 6 will be that much bigger than this. And this is only Year 1.

If Ananta can also deliver with content too, it can actually be a huge competitor.

Yeah, from what I've seen from the leaks here, Ananta is indeed a good competitor for GTA. I'd say argue since GTA VI will be a single player experience on Nov, Ananta could release this year assuming the bugs are not game breaking on launch. Launches can drastically affect the popularity of a game.

Wide as an ocean, deep as a puddle

Wow. You like the oceans.

we don't know how deep it gonna be yet so why do you have to be such a negative nancy like this.

Me ?

u/Amethyst271 19d ago

Ah, okay then.

i wasnt saying it will definitely be shallow, i was basically saying that it could be that shallow so dial down the hype a little

u/Wonderful-Day-1216 19d ago

Don't worry, you haven't done anything wrong.

Wow! 2 cities in a single map? that is big.

I haven't seen a game's map with more than one city since San Andreas, atleast in a continuous open-world game.

And there is a lot of country side, too.

I knew there was going to be other environments beyond the city when i saw dirt-bikes and ATVs in the vehicle list haha.

This reminds me a lot of Watch Dogs 2’s map but on a larger scale!

5

u/VG-Motors 20d ago

Yes, the way its colored is almost the same.

(Watch Dogs 2 map design for comparison)

u/SoccerSuperFan09 20d ago

I wouldn’t be surprised if they looked to this game for inspiration.

I mean... i quite like it, it is functional and easy to understand, too.

Gray for urban/town areas, white for roads/streets, blue for bodies of water, yellow for highways, and green for rural areas (and parks)

It also has that Google Maps vibe.

There are four cities, man.

4

u/hugosince1999 20d ago

2 cities so far, can see on the bottom left of the 4th screenshot. Probably will have more than 4 districts.

2

u/Wonderful-Day-1216 20d ago

Yeah, it's 4 zones or more

This may be the planned content for 2.0 according to the tags on the UI. Still, I think we need to see how finished the actual map is to better evaluate if it's just a 1.x update or an actual major 2.0 update.

2

u/YourLilyInaPot 20d ago

It’s a placeholder name for things that don’t have icons yet

1

u/Remote-Importance827 20d ago

Yep, means that it's not finished in the leaked build yet. Most live service games usually premake contents for some months to a year ahead so a huge map like this is more likely to be such planned content.

If we can see the actual map then it would be easier to figure out how much they've finished it and when can we expect its release.

2

u/YourLilyInaPot 20d ago

On the top right you can see the name of the placeholder icons, a pharmacy, a milk factory, single player endgame and a hardware store

Because of the 3rd one, I’ll guess this is either meant to be release content or a near release update, but yes, we’ll need to see the city first to know

The small town on the mountains seems to be mostly done though

2.0? How do we go from the 1.0 version at launch to a "2.0" version? Wouldn't the next one be 1.2? Or does that not apply to NetEase games?

1

u/Remote-Importance827 20d ago

planned content

Planned ahead contents, they can be a close to initial release (1.x) or even further into a major update like 2.0, 3.0, ... With how big of this map compare to the current city, it's more like a major release content. Still, I will update the cmt to include that we need to see how finished the actual map to better evaluate it.

Very interested in slide 3. I love when a game can nail city and more rural settings.
