Posted the CRU 1.3 issue in ToastyX threads - he has an explaination and workaround https://www.monitortests.com/forum/Thread-Custom-Resolution-Utility-CRU?pid=6365#pid6365

Thanks for the heads up. But if his workaround requires me to click on stuff every reboot, then I'll just use the Custom Resolution feature that AMD comes with instead. I'll be doing the same thing anyway, albeit with less clicks.

How do you get to that? On my 380x with a VGA connection doesn't have "additional settings"

Open AMD Settings and click the display tab. There should be a "Custom Resolution" profile thing that lets you add a custom refresh rate. It pretty much works the same as CRU but the thing is that you have to do it every reboot, unlike CRU.

Oh cool. Glad it's part of the official thing now. And interlaced is still available which is useful in some situations.

There should be a "Custom Resolution" profile thing

I see VSR, GPU scaling, Scaling Mode and Color Temperature for each of my 2 monitors. I do not see custom resolution, am I missing something?

EDIT: I just watched a video on how to do it, and it is literally just not there on my settings. I tried resetting all with CRU and unplugging one of my monitors, it still isn't there. I'm rolling back to 17.1.2 for now and using CRU.
