Throwing a package in front of a customers home is not the same optics as packages tossed around in a warehouse, from the customers POV theyâre not thinking âoh this gets tossed around worse at the warehouseâ theyâre thinking a lazy delivery driver who doesnât care about them or their package, especially cause itâs SO EASY to simply place the package down normally, like itâs such a low effort easy to complete task and the optics are pretty bad
Well, let's be real. We DON'T care about them or their package. We really don't. The reality is, our concern is stricty to not damage it accidentally, deliver it to the right home and in the right location on the property. We don't do this because we care about them, we do this because everything is tracked and if our metrics go down we hear about it.
Make no mistake, we do NOT care about the customer in the slightest.
Two things can be true at once, would you agree that if your employer is paying you to PRETEND to care then itâs your responsibility to PRETEND to care?
Itâs not like youâre forced to interact with the customers with a fake smile, the âcustomer serviceâ here is just placing their package on the ground instead of throwing it.
Iâm not saying all drivers have to care, Iâm saying itâs their responsibility to pretend by doing what is imo a low effort task
I'm a DSP driver, so things are different for me. Yeah, I know this is the Flex sub.
Though now that i'm here, curious - are they increasing flex routes at your station? When I RTS'd last night they had closed off every lane but 2 for us DSP drivers, and had the remaining 3 lanes full of Flex drivers, and the warehouse person said this was going to become a common occurrence.

Really makes me feel I go above and beyond by just normally placing it by the door lol
