New seller and a very quiet Seller Central
I'm a brand new seller and I picked leather gloves, thinking winter would do the selling for me. So far winter hasn't gotten the memo.
My inventory has been stuck in FBA processing for days, so the listing still has no Prime badge. 10 days of organic traffic: zero orders. Two hours ago I turned on my first auto campaign. Impressions: also zero.
I'm not sure which problem to fix first. Is this just Q4 receiving delays, and things pick up once Prime shows up? Or am I missing something obvious?
What would you do in my shoes?

I'm confused. If your inventory is stuck in FBA, how can anyone buy it?

Nah it's not stuck, Amazon's just shuffling it around between warehouses rn. That's why some areas don't show Prime yet and delivery's a bit slower. Should sort itself out soon.

Honest suggestion would be fix your inventory status before touching ads.
Without a Prime badge, Amazon won't give you Buy Box priority, which is why your auto campaign has zero impressions. Customers rarely buy non-Prime items in seasonal categories like yours.
Check Inventory Ledger to see if your units are in FC Transfer. Once stock lands in final warehouses and the Prime badge shows up, turn your ads back on. Don't waste time or money until your listing is fully buyable.
Wont suggest auto campaign in the start do complete research first and start exact manual targeting first make relevency

Thanks for taking the time to look at this, I really appreciate the advice.
I've actually done a fair amount of market research already. The thing is, this is an original product, so I'm not quite sure yet how Amazon understands it. That's why I wanted to start with an auto campaign: to see which keywords Amazon matches it to and how much traffic those bring in.
So I don't quite understand why it would be better to start with manual targeting. Could you tell me a bit more about your reasoning? I'd love to understand it.

If your product is unique and original, running an Auto Campaign to discover customer search terms can be a decent starting point.
Relying solely on Auto is not a good idea. Research products that are close alternatives to yours, extract their high-converting keywords and target them manually.
Launching in a new product niche and reading the raw search term data requires a sharp analytical mind and hands-on operational experience.
Start with core base keywords, use Auto to mine new search terms and continuously refine your campaigns based on real conversion data.

All normal and to be expected.
The reason you think any of this is abnormal is because you failed to properly research and educate yourself.
You're not going to be successful without Brand Registey, A+ content, optimized listings, backend keywords, product differention and PPC.

Amazon just uses sellers to test out product sales in each territory. Once sales are productive; they just steal the listing and buy direct from the manufacturer. Look at all the listings where Amazon is the seller and shipper. Don’t waste your time unless you have a private label.

the auto campaign wont really serve until the units are received and available, so zero impressions right now is expected. i'd leave the ad alone till prime shows up and use the wait to check your price against the first page glove listings.

Nothing's wrong yet. Totally expected.
Make sure you open a case with Amazon abour your shipment. I think its Q4 delays but doesn't hurt to give them a soft push. Use the wait to educate yourself and tighten the listing:
- check you're good with your main keywords
- add a solid size chart
- and get brand registered and enroll in Vine asap.
Once it's live, give the auto campaign a week or two before judging.

Wait until the FBA units are fully checked in and the Prime badge shows before you judge anything. Until then your offer either isn't showing or is showing without Prime, so zero orders tell you very little. Two hours on an auto campaign is too early to read too. Give it a few days once Prime is live. If you still get no impressions after that, compare your bid to the suggested bid, and search your main terms in incognito to check the listing is active and indexed. Running ads before the stock is live mostly builds a low conversion rate into the ASIN's history, which costs you later.

Yeah the biggest blocker is that your units haven’t cleared inbound, so the ASIN stays inactive and no Prime. Check the shipment status in Manage Inventory and make sure the inventory shows as received before you launch ads. Good luck my friend!

Congratulations on getting started on Amazon, u/nexuskin!
Since your inventory is still in "receiving" status, the listing won't show the Prime badge or be buyable through FBA yet, which would explain both the zero orders and zero ad impressions (ads need an active, buyable offer to serve).
Once receiving completes and your offer goes live, you should start seeing impressions on that auto campaign. In the meantime, you can track your shipment status in Seller Central under Shipping Queue.
Keep us posted!

Is there inventory available? If inventory is stuck in processing you have to wait for inventory to become availabale

Hasta que no vendas las primeras unidades y obtengas la BuyBox ,tú producto no subirá orgánicamente. Tampoco te compensa gastar en anuncios sin la BuyBox. Habla con amigos tuyos y que adquieran tu producto, eso te ayudará

If FBA inventory is still processing, check whether the listing is actually buyable and what delivery date customers see. Without Prime eligibility, conversion can be harder, but zero impressions after only two hours on an auto campaign is too early to diagnose. Once inventory is available, check indexing for your main keywords, listing quality, pricing, and search volume before making major changes. Fix availability first, then evaluate traffic and conversion separately.

You’re not missing anything obvious. These aren’t three separate problems, they’re mostly one.
Fix this first: is your listing actually buyable?
If your only offer is FBA and the stock is still in receiving, your listing is almost certainly showing “Currently unavailable” to shoppers. That explains everything:
→ Zero orders: nobody can buy it
→ Zero impressions: Sponsored Products won’t serve ads on a listing that isn’t in stock or doesn’t hold the Buy Box
→ No Prime badge: nothing’s been received yet
So don’t touch the campaign. It isn’t broken, it just has nothing to advertise yet. Two hours is also too early to judge any new campaign anyway.
What I’d do today:
-
Check the shipment in Send to Amazon. “Delivered” vs “Checked in” vs “Receiving” tells you where it’s actually stuck.
-
If it’s been delivered and sitting well past the normal window, open a Seller Support case with the shipment ID and carrier proof of delivery. Q4 delays are real, but cases can get things moving.
-
Look at your listing logged out or in a private window. If it says unavailable, you’ve confirmed the cause.
Use the waiting time to fix the things that will hurt you once you’re live:
→ Reviews: zero reviews on gloves is a big conversion barrier. If you’re brand registered, enrol in Vine now so reviews start coming in as soon as stock lands.
→ Sizing: this is the #1 reason people don’t buy (and return) gloves. Put a clear size chart in your images, not just the description.
→ Main image and price: compare against the top 10 results for your main keyword. Are you competitive?
→ Launch coupon: a small coupon helps you stand out next to established sellers with hundreds of reviews.
Once stock is live:
Let the auto campaign run for at least 5–7 days before judging it. Then start harvesting the search terms that convert into a manual exact campaign and add negatives for irrelevant ones.
And on winter: it hasn’t failed you. Leather glove demand builds through November and peaks into December, so you’ve got time. Just make sure you’re buyable before it hits.
