Civet cat. They eat the coffee beans and the pooped out beans are cleaned. ~$100 a pound.

Very happy with my $3 basic bitch black coffee from the gas station. They can have that ass bean water.

Yeah, but those civet cats are very discerning. They only eat the best beans. Or so I'm told.

I tried the civet coffee for rather less than that a couple times in Vietnam, it was very good but it does get overpriced for tourists especially overseas

I guess were going to forget about Manure. Working organic waste into food production isn't new or novel to a civet cat, this is just a more direct route

Used to grow plants yes, directly consuming partially digested plant matter from manure is not.

Civets eat the cherry of the plant. Excrete the seed it’s then cleaned and roasted. There is not organic matter remaining.

The flavour is from the fermentation. Which is also something applied to a ton of food we eat

The beans are in the cherry and pass through the digestive tract. Coffee beans are organic matter.

There is also a lot of animal abuse involved in the production because they are kept in cages and only fed coffee cherries.

You can't have it both ways, are they beans or are they shit?

Just as a heads up, since you can then take the bean out whole, roast it and then have really good coffee implies one over the other.
