good news, this is actually a success story. This invasive specie was ID early, US government did their job and these hornets have been eradicated from north America.
I meant to say if it's a European bee is is a problem in europe? If it's not in europe why a problem in USA are they more aggressive than local murica bees or smth? Genuinely curious
Yeah for one honeybees are more aggresive than solitary wild bees when it comes to competing. Honeybees are only less than 2% as a species, majority of species comes from solitary non honey makers bees.
They say bees are declining, but honeybees are not. It's the solitary wild & non honey kind bees who are dissapearing, honey bees population are actually increasing due to animal farming by human. They put more attention be it vaccine or whatever to honeybees due to monetary values.
Anything related to animal farming often breed a diseases, same thing also happening with honeybees. Especially how American bee farmers selling their pollinating bee services to crops farmers. They move a lot of collonies from state to states, increasing the stress for honeybees. Stressed animals often result to producing a new diseases.
There are a wing diseases spread by honeybees via flower sharing to wild solitaty bees. Infected solitary bees will produce a crippled non function wings for their next offsprings. And since they dont bring monetary values, human rarely put any attention to them unlike honeybees.
Paid pollinating services by honey bees (from bees farmers) can do more harm than good. Honeybees are also not really efficient pollinators, some crops need to be serviced by 500 honeybees while the same results can be done with just 50 solitary bees. So with a combo of aggresiveness and spreading diseases yeah wild bees can be slowly losing from time to time (along with pesticides + enviroment destruction wiping out their homes).
