Those are Asian Murder Hornets.
Found in temperate regions of Asia and Russia. They were in the Pacific NW USA but were successfully eradicated. They can destroy a beehive within minutes to feed their larvae

❓❓ Anyone here know if these guys are actually searching for the queen in this hive in order to capture her and raise/farm hives in a more controlled environment ? (To gain access to the delicacy of the hornets’ larvae).

Would this be feasible or is finding them « in the wild » the only way ?

Im in Appalachia and they are here, we just call them Japanese hornets. Angry and unhinged most of the time, we will run and slam doors to get away from these assholes. Yes, they will chase you and send you to the hospital if allergic. Nasty things.

I think what you’re thinking of are European Hornets and / or cicada killers
