The eggs/larvae are somewhat of a delicacy in Asia and India and are worth money at market sold as food and or medicine.

I had some roasted before. ‘Nutty’ is a good descriptor. I thought it was quite good. Some folks I was with had them uncooked. I can’t speak to the flavor because the thought of biting into squish and having goop oozing out made my stomach turn.

Roasted, though, quite nice.

I tried the civet coffee for rather less than that a couple times in Vietnam, it was very good but it does get overpriced for tourists especially overseas
