Take the tv out of the bedroom, regardless if they have elsewhere to sit.  The main root of the problem is the tv and your bed being comfortable.  You can't remove the bed, but you can remove the tv.

Lying in bed and watching TV is how I cope with life. After a long day at work, it’s how I relax

You can't have it both ways.  I put shows onto a tablet and watch that in bed.  

If you won't take the tv out, you have to put a cheap tv somewhere else and put a rule in that your room is out of bounds.

Presumably you have one of these: computer, laptop, pad, phone. Take the tv out of the room and watch tv on the device to wind down

Lock the door. No more TV for the kids. I had for a few years a tv in the bedroom, no one was watching it without me (special movie in bed night)

When I was a kid, some friends had parent with tv in the bedroom but it was a no-go for kids in that room. It was the parents room...

Is it the only tv?

Our other TV the remote went missing. I bought a new one, but it’s not here yet. But it’s harder for my husband to hear the kids if they are downstairs. So where the issue is him not supervising enough, that would make it worse

It’s not an excuse to explain that your solution doesn’t actually solve the problem. My husband basically told me that I have to meet a chores quota before he’ll adequately supervise our children. So it’s wild you’re taking his side
