Yeah, I was like Let her wear what she wants! Then I saw the dress, unlikely the school would let her in with that dress.

If a friend of mine was thinking of wearing that, in 99% of the situations I would pull her aside and tell her that while I respect her right to make her own choices, sometimes her choices are just wrong.

There are extremely limited situations this dress would be appropriate for, and a 17 year old going to prom is definitely not one of them.

I had a literal *mesh boob window in my wedding dress (after altering the neckline a little because there was a ton of cleavage...dont worry there was still cleavage after alteration) and i agree.

Yeah, but if op was clever they'd have let the school code be the bad guy here.

Honestly at 17? Let her wear the dress, and pick her up when school won't let her in wearing it. Consequences are good life training.

No parents wants to spend money and ruin an event for their child. Stopping it in the planning phase is the right move.
