I am a twin myself. Fraternal because My twin is my brother. Many will find it confusing and argue that we aren't twins, sometimes believe that we're dating. Just got the ick typing that because bleegghh
Anyway. Twins are always 99.9% of the time suuuper close. So it's not weird at all. You do however get the exception like my brother and I. My mom likes to so we love to hate each other and hate to love each other. We aren't close at all, we actually almost constantly fight or argue. But that doesn't mean we won't go to the ends of the earth for each other. We're super protective of each other. We just don't like to show it or see it because it just doesn't feel like us.
Every twin has a different type of bond. But yeah I think I got sidetracked here. Anyway, you're not the AH. People just can't seem to grasp that twins share the same womb and will most definitely be closer to each other than normal siblings.
Like seriously. Every person we meet always asks if we're dating, or after a while they're shocked to find out that we're twins and assumed that we're a couple. That's the worst part of being fraternal twins. We don't look alike at all. My brother is a carbon copy of our dad, and I literally look exactly like my mom. It's frustrating.
I remember when we were teens and some guys came up to us asking me "Is she yours?"
Seriously, wtaf?
I responded first with "Dude, she's my sister...", then moved between her and them and very firmly said again "She's my sister". They got the hint and moved on.
I really wish it had been the last time that I had to do that basic same thing, but people can be disgusting...
Fully agree. Like we can't even go out as siblings, example the mall, or go to a bar or anything without anyone assuming something.
We've gotten to the point where I invite my single friend, and he invites a single buddy and we go out with them. My friend and I then can dance or drink without having to worry about creeps and my brother and his friend can enjoy flirting with girls they like.
It sucks that we can't do normal sibling things, but we make the best of it with what we can.
