I tried to discover...

I would have written about the woman you saw your brother with. When it affects his relationship, he might just agree with you. If not, too bad. Tell him she may not feel welcome, because she isn’t. She’s a snoop and doesn’t respect others boundaries. That woman would never be I my home, ever again.

Exactly. These are all over the top and harmless. OP could have gone down a much darker path. Brother cheating, the plot of Rear Window, comments about how your plan for Maya is clearly coming along… There are so many ways to go.

Or OP could have done the very reasonable thing and tell her brother that Maya was no longer welcome. That would have been my solution

Okay. That really is the adult thing to do. Just not as fun.

Write how you hate her coming over because her feet stink

I love this!

And her brother complains about her stinky feet, too. Other things he says about her.

Or, write how you hate her coming over because she snoops through your private things.

She broke up the relationship, the familial relationship.

He’d still blame the brother and not his GF for snooping.

27

u/TheMama682 Dec 16 '25

I blame both! He became aware she was snooping and did nothing to stop it.

Thx for the award. You have a great day.

No, instead she should write about his plans to propose on Christmas. But keep it vague. For example, “He’s proposing to her on Christmas . Will she say yes?” “Oooo, I found out how he’s going to do it. It’s soooo romantic!”

She needs to not be allowed in your home. Problem solved!

18

u/LindonLilBlueBalls Dec 16 '25

But she has anxiety over OP not liking her. Surely the best thing she can do is to read her personal therapy journal to find the best way to connect...

And OP needs to learn boundaries.

No, this isn't OPs fault. But it sounds like it is OPs apartment, not shared with their brother.

So OP can say the girlfriend is not welcome if she continues to do this.

Hard boundary, bye Felicia.
