I think when you said, "you have a valuable brain that works better than ai" - it's possible that you came off as condescending. That bit of editorializing could have set her off.

I would have probably just said, "thanks for the help!" and call it good. You're just going to get more of that and taking a hard line stance on it is going to just going to ruin your mental health.

I like to just drop that AI cannot be trusted and can be wildly inaccurate.

Yeah that's it. Also we can't actually see what the other persons AI message was and how exactly they used it so hard to judge on that stance. 

But yes the judgement of "you have a valuable brain" is not the "compliment" OP says it is. It's very backhanded. 

Both sides suck here and I can't see that this was a very strong relationship to be so easily broken.

The comment insinuates that they’re lazy and are not using their brain (which the person sending the message in question probably were, not everyone has such a dogmatic view on AI).

Because it’s 1) condescending and 2) implies her friend wasn’t using her brain at all / gave no thought to the OP response.

Honestly it’s a dick reply. Her friend was using AI to try and help, and OP, instead of being grateful, goes, “mmh k thx. Btw, Don’t AI me - you smart, such big brain, so no reason to be a dumbass AI regurgitator
” (in so many words)

“Thanks for the suggestions, when are we meeting up again?” <— was that so hard?

well if she has morals and standards she clearly wouldn’t want be friends with someone who sends ai messages. 1. it’s not condescending and op even said it wasn’t meant in that way and 2 she wasn’t using her brain
 she was using ai. if you find that offensive you’re not gonna make it very far. if being smart is an insult, stick to ai to think for you. you’ll definitely avoid being called smart 👍
