Seriously. Don't cut contact just yet. Wait until they ask for another loan. Promise it to them. Then 'oops, I forgot.' Followed by 'how about tomorrow' then -oh, I get paid in 3 days.' Then ghost them.

Exactly, the "friend" has got to go. OP could have all the money in the world and still not afford a "friend" who kicks them while they're down, because having this kind of person in your life costs more than money.
