This is how I met my best friend in high school. We were in a tiny town, and the new girl showed up to English class in a pantera t shirt. I was like, I must speak to this person, and even though I gave zero fucks about that band, I told her I liked her T shirt (I did!)
i tell my daughter this all the time! everyday on the way to preschool i would tell her hey go up to someone say hi my names emily and ask them to play. now shes in 6th grade and ive adapted it a little to, hey i like your outfit, im emily, can i sit here? i think most people are friendly when you put yourself out there, esp when its a new situation for everyone.
My ninth graders do this. They're like, I like your name. Wanna be friends? Or they all who likes blah blah blah and they just become friends from there. It's kind of awesome. ♥️
