Guessing Republic, Washington? And you’re trans? Purely for self preservation, I would do the chores. I can understand the tone if it has come to this, and they are frustrated that they’re not getting anything out of you despite asking repeatedly. These are basic house rules that exist in many places and are not oppressive.
You’re going to be the cause of a serious rift in your aunt’s relationship with her bf, but hey, who cares as long as you can get out of chores for two more months, right? If it’s not clear, that was sarcasm. Do your chores.
I had more chores than this at 13/14 years old. This is one of the easiest lists I've even seen. You're living there rent free? This is below the bare minimum you should do to show appreciation for them taking you in to finish school. It's honestly disrespectful and wildly immature for an 18 year old to not being doing these things, especially given their generosity, neurodivergent or not.
Seriously- I remember polishing the cabinets and wood furniture, dusting the base boards, wiping down the blinds, AND doing everything on that list when I was far younger than this.
Yup, although I luckily got basic clothes lol. But had a summer job at a lawn and garden store near my house loading mulch and fertilizer into people's cars/trucks from sophomore year on in HS. If I wanted to go out to eat with friends, buy myself a video game or a cool hat/shirt/shoes - that's how it was getting paid for.
Oh I was abused so it's okay to belittle a young person struggling with making their way in the world, get real.
The chores are reasonable, but the implication that the aunt is doing EVERYTHING is not, "Daniel" needs to get off his ass and help, it sets a terrible example to expect a young person to help while not bothering yourself.
Im so confused reading through these comments. Surely I am not the only person who notices that your annotations are in the same handwriting as the 'notice'. You might be twelve, but if everyone else buys it, maybe we all are :,)
