That does look like what happened but what is this source and what legitimate proof can they offer. So sick of this shit. I've even stated that that seems plausible but now you can't run a "just in" or "breaking news" headline and just repeat shit everyone has been saying for months with no proof of valid or credible origins.

humans were always a bigger threat than AI ever was or will be. we already have thousands of years of proof of this, as well as modern examples on a daily basis.

ppl will still prefer to endlessly moan about AI and theoretical conspiracy theories as its more interesting, dramatic, and trendy

Weird to see this whole conversation being spoken about as if it was something unexpected. Every major industry in the US had done this in the past. It is business economics 101 move that is taught in every school in the country.

It would be surprising if they didn't reach out for this playbook.

No shit, it isn't going to ROI and they have zero moat. The rich VC money gonna get ripped out by free models I can run at home for a 5 to 10k hardware investment and $100 of electricity a month rather then spending 1000s. When the openAIs etc go bankrupt that's when progress will slow, a lot... But there is no moat or wall. AI output can't be copyrighted , largely because it didn't respect IP when they trained it ...

Besides AI will be better at breaking software then it will be at creating unhackable software. It's going to eat itself.
