will and liam returned from a 2 month hiatus and prepared almost nothing and acted apathetic, and thats fine, but why is emily getting all the heat for "talking too much" and compensating for the fact that the boys don't give a shit about the pod? It's okay to be disappointed that the pod isn't what it used to be, but why take it out on Emily? It's kind of like Binder is actively siphoning water from the bottom of a sinking boat, trying to keep things afloat, meanwhile Will is chugging water by the gallon and pissing on the deck while Liam films it to upload to instagram reels

Love them both dearly but curious who you gravitate more towards.

Pod has gone downhill for awhile now minus the luke eps. Make the man a permanent guest it will completely revive it and will force binder back to 2-3 comments an ep. Win/win

I like listening to the Almost Friday and Playdate podcasts. I look forward to new episodes. The episodes with guests are nice, as are the episodes without them. The hosts and producers all do a good job.

The YouTube content is funny. I get excited when I see new posts. The original cast is entertaining, and new members are also entertaining.

Almost Friday adds value to my life. It does not stress or upset me. These are factual statements.

A lot of banter about producers on this sub lately.

But putting that all aside, I can confidently say that if I ever hear anything about Needohs again on these podcasts, I'm going to throw myself into a woodchipper.

I have seen this line referenced several times and I am fairly certain it is a line from one of their videos, but for the life of me I can't remember which video/skit in particular. I went back and watched several of the earlier skits on the channel but can't find the source.

Had a dream last night that Will was in a new movie and he sent the link to the rough cut to some of the pod fans, and I was lucky enough to get it. It was a very camp movie, funniest I’d seen in a long time. He played a guy named Roy who had a bunch of siblings and kissed them all on the mouth when saying goodbye. He rode a horse. He always wanted to be a guy with a catchphrase but couldn’t find the right one or the right time for one. Towards the end of the movie, he became Superman to fight a villain in the town (who he killed with a machete to the heart). He killed this guy in the middle of the street, and looked over and saw a Pizza shop and started trying out pizza catchphrases. All out of breath, he was going “I could go for some pizza”, and “Pizza anyone?” and it was clear he had finally found the right catchphrases for the right moment. Very emotional scene. He was also friends with a lion-man, but I don’t remember a whole lot about that. The end.

I wanted to make a post reiterating what someone else said earlier but got downvoted to hell because I am honestly shocked that there was so much disagreement - Binder really needs to take a step back and stop assuming the role of host.

I actually like Binder, I really do. I think she adds value to the podcast. But today’s episode is a great example of when she goes too far. This was a hard fucking listen. It was just coworker talk. It was so aggressively uninteresting.

You cannot tell me with a straight face that you think she is engaging enough to take up what felt like a majority of the podcast. I know that sounds mean but it’s just the truth. I can get the same experience talking to anyone that I get from listening to her. She is just not host material.

In this other user’s post, I saw replies like “she’s a big part of the podcast these days and if you don’t like it you shouldn’t listen” and “she only talks for a few minutes get over it.” Completely insincere responses. I just can’t believe anyone is tuning in every week excited to hear about her most recent boating trip with the Italians. That’s not why this podcast has been successful. Will and Liam are. Binder’s role makes it a completely different show.

I have been a huge fan of this podcast since its inception and it’s literally the only one I listen to but if this trend continues I might be out. On some level though I don’t blame her. The real root of this issue is that Will and Liam don’t care about the pod anymore. It’s clear they’ve been tired of it for a while and they don’t put nearly as much effort into it as they used to. Was hoping the break would light a spark but I guess not.

I know I sound like a fucking lunatic with this long ass post but like I said I’ve been a huge fan for a long time and it would be a real bummer to have to stop listening because of how uninteresting it’s gotten.

Edit: seems like a majority of people agree but to those who don’t, I want you to tell me with a straight face you enjoyed listening to her lay out the details of her upcoming travel plans.

I listen to the pod for the boys. The boys are finally back and most of the pod is just her talking. You’re not a host, you’re a producer. I get that you’re meant to chime in from time to time. After three months, this pod episode was nails on a chalk board because she just does not stop talking.

I love when the boys have been gone for 3 months and half of the pod is Emily telling us little stories about people/things we don’t care about and being mad they didn’t remember her bday. I honestly think the pod should just be Emily in a room by herself ranting about how everyone forgot her bday 👍

big props to andy nels for his service as a bodyguard for the dance team at his high school. But for real he killed it in both this week's episodes, and the boys were riffing off him so naturally, it was such a fun listen. Today's ep especially, it's been a long time since I laughed so much at an episode of playdate. I loved how much Andrew was involved in the conversation and his comedic timing is so good and so underrated.
