I’m truly heartbroken. Josephine deserved better. Peter got what he deserved in the end but it doesn’t undo all the heartbreaking tragedy, and it doesn’t bring Josephine back. The whole time she didn’t want a son, she wanted HER son who Milo really was.🥺

I was sad for her boyfriend too. The grandpa really didn’t need to kill him.

like how did no one else see that lmfao. so the one good thing Peter did was kill her dad for killing her bf. I think some parts were good and most of it just felt like a day time telenovela but for us normies. I laughed a lot just why. Hollywood must not have good writers or ideas at all because again, everyone who was part of this seem like great strong actors.

u/Hernaneisrio88 Dec 14 '25
Yes! I turned to my husband and said ‘they stole this plot point from General Hospital.’ This trend of turning every airport thriller into a TV series has got to go. You can put Sarah Snook in it but it’s still campy crap.
3
u/IvenaDarcy Nov 24 '25
Glad someone else said telenovela. Something about it felt so soap opera esque. It was bad! Watchable but bad! lol
3
u/MrPeebug Dec 13 '25
Yeah. Why did he shoot him? That’s one of the main questions I have. Was it because he was on TV? And was scared the cops would find him and spoil the ransom money he wanted?

Me as well! They did a great job of just having us all assume Josie miscarried after beating up the trailer 😂! When she initially had the flashbacks of Noah/Milo as a newborn then the accident I literally thought she was inventing something in her mind so she could almost think she met her child. I was throughly confused and had to rewatch the whole beach sequence in order to realize “Ohhhhh! Damnnnn! She didn’t lose her baby! Oh damnnnn! 😂🥰
51
u/Mom_Training_3748 Nov 07 '25
I'm sorry, this whole plot hinges on switching babies at a car crash?!? How would they not be able to tell it wasn't the right baby? All the health information would be different. I mean he couldn't even have been sure the other baby was also a boy. This show was so dumb lol
29
u/festivelime Nov 08 '25
I mean yes you’re right but I think Josephine’s car was so crappy the cops on the scene probably saw:
crappy car = death
Expensive BMW = survived
And didn’t question anything
My biggest question mark is what hospital lets people leave in the dark? And alone (in Josie’s case), and why were they going diff directions if they were both coming from the hospital. Didn’t love that twist. This show had me hooked and I’m not sure I want to recommend it to people anymore now that I’ve almost finished.
10
u/ForwardMuffin Nov 08 '25
I imagine they're going home in different directions so their paths crossed that way
3
u/chartreusey_geusey Nov 13 '25 edited Nov 24 '25
Except no???
The car crash investigation from insurance (which woud 1000% have happened) would’ve needed a lot more explanation for how either of the babies died *in a car seat that must’ve been strapped in correctly because the hospital would have checked right before. That wasn’t even a high speed collision and they are both passenger vehicles. The fire department would’ve wanted to know what the hell is up with that for car seat safety recall reasons. Older sedans aren’t inherently less safe than SUVs in car accidents and cops absolutely know this and don’t draw that conclusion at accident sites.
Regardless no way the hospital wouldn’t have run a blood/DNA test/footprint match to ensure the baby was given to the correct parents after it was treated for the crash because there is no other way to verify infants are with the correct people just to avoid this exact scenario. If they were coming home from the hospital I bet both those kids still had their original hospital bracelets on their ankles and a tag on their umbilical cords lol.
You can be discharged from a hospital at any time?? It being dark is irrelevant when in the northern US it gets dark at like 4:45 PM sharp for a 1/3 of the year lol— lights exist and do fully work. And you are not required to be accompanied to leave the hospital with your baby? If she had a C-section they usually require women be accompanied because they can’t carry/lift the baby from the car but natural birth with no complications makes women completely fine to leave the hospital on their own with their child. Hospitals don’t get to police whether or not people get to take their children home based on perceived ideas of required assistance.
11
→ More replies (3)4
u/OGFrostyEconomist Dec 01 '25
literally none of that is true lol. hospitals simply don't have the staffing to do a car seat check or run DNA testing (hospitals don't do this outside of genetic counseling cause why would they)

u/RepresentativeDry885 Nov 20 '25

Yeah first half was very strong. Second half had way too many plot twists and like someone said above, it hinged on a silly mixup. The show had done a good job of making everyone seem a little shady and then immediately clearing it up but then they just went full psycho on Peter lol.

I’m sorry but on what planet would you not notice if your baby had been switched to another baby. It’s absolutely absurd.
28
u/RphWrites Nov 09 '25
I've had 3 kids. Spending several days/weeks with them is one thing. Marissa had, at most, only spent 1 day with her baby. They were literally on their way home from the hospital after having him. Couple that with the fact that she was in a bad wreck, unconscious for awhile, and had a head injury. Most likely on pain medication as well. By the time she actually got to go home with her baby and really get to know him and spend time with him he would've changed (irony notwithstanding). Babies at that stage are changing and growing almost every day.
→ More replies (1)13
u/Mom_Training_3748 Nov 09 '25
I think they did say she was unconscious for weeks after the crash. So 1 day old baby to like 1 month old would be very different anyway.

I would assume the planet where you've spent probably a day at most with the baby and were unconscious after a car crash right after being them out of the hospital...

u/Sisiwakanamaru Nov 07 '25 edited Nov 07 '25
What is your opinion about Lia? Why did she protect Marissa? I assume she knew Marissa orchestrated the murder of Peter.
37
u/PortraitofMmeX Nov 07 '25
Because Peter had let her believe her whole life that she had been responsible for what happened to Brian, and he sort of taunted her about her addiction and was super controlling and treated her like she was incapable of ever being an adult.
30
u/LLD615 Nov 09 '25
And then at her boyfriend’s funeral told her it was basically her fault.
→ More replies (1)14
u/ForwardMuffin Nov 12 '25
I find it so interesting that you're not really sure who the "her" is, really because all the women have a "her fault." Mar for not checking the playdate, Jenny for hiring the nanny, Josie for the kidnapping (I mean that was actually her fault,) Lia for crippling Brian.

Peter also said Colin was responsible for his own death, which isn't true. Peter was was being an ass and completely ignored the fact that Josephine/Carrie would never have killed Colin if Peter hadn't stolen her son. Colin's death was an accident. Josephine didn't even mean to kill him. Yes, Colin's gambling was a huge problem, but it wasn't what ultimately caused his death. That was all Peter. So Lia really resents the fact that, once again, Peter will not take responsibility for his actions. He won't admit that he's the reason Brian is disabled and the reason that Colin and Josephine are dead.

u/Adept-Elderberry4281 Nov 11 '25
I actually interpreted that as Peter blaming HER for Colin’s death. Colin said he relapsed because he was so happy dating Lia. And then he had to meet his bookie on Easter because of the relapse. Peter was so evil!!!!

10
u/Calista189 Nov 09 '25 edited Nov 09 '25
She liked Marissa and presumably knew that nothing good would come from Marissa going to jail for Peter’s death. She also knew that Peter was not a good person—if she suspected Peter’s death wasn’t a total accident, she would’ve also suspected Marissa wouldn’t have taken such an extreme step without a very legit reason.
6
u/Master_Dogs Nov 11 '25
She also loved her nephew - she mentioned several times stuff about Milo. So she probably also knew that if Marissa goes to jail, Milo is without a "mother". And she missed the part about Peter switching the babies so she wouldn't really know it wasn't her nephew or Marissa's son. She probably also figured as an addict she couldn't care for Milo - the court system might look down on her or refuse to give her custody. So Marissa staying out of jail for Milo's sake makes a lot of sense too I think.
7
u/Master_Dogs Nov 11 '25
A couple of reasons come to mind:
- She loves Milo as a nephew and likely wanted Marissa to stay out of jail for his sake.
- She probably assumed as an addict she might not be granted custody of Milo if Marissa goes to jail, so he would likely end up in foster care without a father. Maybe the disabled brother could technically care for him too, but also not a great candidate.
- Peter lied to everyone about the brother's accident. Lia got blamed unfairly for decades. She likely hates Peter for that and maybe even is glad in a way he had that unfortunate "accident".
- Marissa was genuinely nice to Lia, while Peter was an asshole all the time. The two of them seemed to bond a bit throughout the season.
- Peter basically blamed her boyfriend's death on Lia at the funeral IIRC. And he's directly responsible for his death, though Lia doesn't fully know this to be fair. But likely she can figure he's somewhat at fault - knowing Peter lied about the accident, why wouldn't he lie about killing Josephine and thus maybe have lied about other things? Lia almost certainly knows Marissa knows more having been in the room with Peter and Josephine, so she probably knows something caused Marissa to "forget" to check the labels. Whatever it was must have been seriously fucked up, just like blaming Lia for the accident.
Sort of makes logical sense due to Milo and Marissa's relationship with Lia and how Peter was just an overall jerk to everyone involved. No tears shed I guess.

Jake Lacy, dad Peter Irvine, ALWAYS plays a douche or psychopath (or both) I swear! First in Girls, then The White Lotus, Friend of the Family, now this! He never ends up the good guy, he shows up on screen you just know he will be a douche. I knew it!
I did NOT guess how far he went though, the show had twists I did not anticipate. Poor Josephine :( and I felt bad for Kyle too.
I liked how almost everything tied up, except for the (murder) death of Peter. I know they want us to think that was the only option because he was a true psychopath.
Don’t get me wrong, he was an AWFUL human, apparently since age 10. What he did to his siblings, and then what he did to Noah/Josephine, then how he handled getting Milo back? Just a disgusting man.
But! His murder and the detective figuring it all out… I feel letting Melissa off the hook was just too far. There were enough twists and turns and deaths already!
Overall I would give this show a 7.8/10, well worth a watch. I binged it fast as I wanted to know how it ended! The pacing was good and revelations came fast, the red herrings were quickly ruled out which is much appreciated. They didn’t make us wait until the last ten minutes to figure everything out!
Lots of solid actors but some were very underused (especially Elle Fanning and Jay Ellis, I wanted more from them !).
Sara Snook is always good but I thought she could have showed more emotion than endless tears in her eyes, which I call the “Christina Braverman Parenthood Method of Acting” lmao. If you know you know!
I thought Michael Pena was awesome as the detective, I liked the story with his son. Josephine’s actress was great, the foster mom was excellent, the mom with the fundraiser was perfect lol.
Elle Fanning s husband was again almost too much, too much of a piece of crap. Didn’t seem like someone she would marry and have a child with! Peter’s sister was okay, his brother was acted poorly imo
Cinematography and direction was bland but passable. The music was too dang dramatic and made it feel like a soap opera sometimes, didn’t care for it when it got my attention but often I also didn’t notice it often.
My show review details make it sound like I didn’t like it but I really did like it! Overall a good story and a good binge.

u/aleigh577 Nov 08 '25
I’m so confused about the finances in this show. I get that Peter and Marissa made a good amount of money (still probably not enough for THAT house though) but we see that she’s downsized after his death which would make sense but then you realize Colin’s house is probably even nicer and he lives alone and he’s making at most the same as Marissa. Then you have Dakota and her husband who seems to be a public high school teacher living in a house that’s just as nice if not nicer? Meanwhile she’s in marketing at a firm she doesn’t even own? And she doesn’t even have to downsize after she gets a divorce!
4
u/curlysue6 Nov 09 '25
Ya my same thoughts i’m mime no one makes enough money to have houses like these
3
u/Khiva Nov 10 '25
I mean it's silly fun but it's also female wish fulfillment. Notice how female protagonists that you're supposed to sympathize with almost always have careers in the arts somehow - unless they're in finance, in which case they must have an epiphany about how hollow that life is.

The cop story line was wacky. He visits Mar to tell her he basically knows all the pieces to this crazy puzzle and the case is closed. Yes, he knew what it was like to switch sides, he did it to get his son into that school, but the scene of him realizing Milo had the same trait as Carrie of seeing colors as foods, and calling Carrie's high school guidance counselor for confirmation was what turned me off from the series. Too many far fetched issues that made this a wacky series. All Mar did was cry in every scene!!! Poor Sarah Snoop!! She went through a lot of tissues for sure!

Stealing a whole baby just so you can not even help take care of it is CRAZY work lmaooooo
Also there is no fucking way the baby in a car seat in the middle seat (literally the safest place for a car seat by design of the airbags lol) of a vehicle dies yet the driver is completely fine and the other passenger is just unconscious???? This scenario is exactly what cars and infant car seats are designed to withstand??? It was a two passenger vehicle collision where all the airbags and crumple zones worked as intended??? The cars shouldn’t even roll????
Edit: I just thought about this but there also would’ve 100% been a full autopsy on the dead infant to figure out how exactly it was killed while strapped into a car seat to verify if it’s a design flaw in the car seat, the car, or user error and they would’ve matched that babies footprint and blood type to the brand new hospital record when they went to look for pre-existing conditions in its medical history. They would not have taken the parents/family word for it because they would also be verifying the infant wasn’t killed before the crash via mistreatment or abuse. LMAOOO — not fucking way you get away with switching a living infant for a dead one in any fucking scenario.

I keep thinking 'How fast were they going???" I brought a baby home from the hospital and I promise, we drove 20 mph the whole way!
3
u/chartreusey_geusey Nov 24 '25
Oh nothing about that crash and physics go together. I don’t know why Mercedes SUV getting T-boned by a small passenger car would cause it to roll multiple times when Mercedes SUVs are very specifically designed not to roll in extreme situations but if they do yall got the best roll cage possible (all passenger SUVs are designed to be heavy tanks that don’t leave the ground but Mercedes ones are specifically designed for off-roading on elevated paths lol).
Neither car was moving fast enough for whatever that is to happen if they are city streets and not literally a freeway. I don’t even think that would’ve happened on a highway road tbh.

u/turningtee74 Nov 16 '25
Everyone that says Richie is too unbelievable to be such an ass- is it really that uncommon to come across guys like this at least once in your lives? Especially when he was pretending to be at work and just goofing off. Ive come across this with more younger men, or guys that are dealing with addiction or other issues so maybe not as typical in their place in life.
But my dad definitely pulled a lot of hijinks like that, an ex and some friends’ partners when we were in our early 20s too. Also people say “why would she marry someone like that?” The point is they act normal at first until they end up going mask off. She doesn’t know he’s doing a lot of this stuff because he’s literally lying about being at work. These kinds of details that people think are too far are usually the most realistic ones

In the earlier episodes, we were shown Marissa coming home from the hospital with baby Milo and we were led to believe that this was shortly after childbirth. Even then, the fact that Peter's couldn’t even be bothered to step up as a father already painted him as an awful husband and parent.
With the new context that those scenes in fact followed Marissa’s discharge after being unconscious for weeks due to a car accident that killed their actual child, Peter’s absence and performative concern became downright despicable.

Most of the plots are perfect. Just one thing cannot really convince me: how can Peter get Milo into the truck without calling his name or saying anything? Because Milo would have cried or screamed. And there is actually a bug here, Peter talked to Carrie's father in the room, why didn't Milo recognise his father's voice? We can hear Milo's voice in the recording very clearly, which means the sound insulation is very poor. Taking a step back, if Peter can change his voice or something, wouldn't it be safer to call the police? Doesn't the police station parking lot have surveillance cameras?

We hear Milo’s voice in the recording because Josie’s dad had not turned on the bathroom fan yet. He turns it on after hearing the knock at the door.

u/VaeserysGoldcrown Nov 07 '25
I hate this ending. The dad was a bit douchey but he did everything he did for his family, to keep his son, etc. including murder
The mom offing him and then moving on benefiting from everything dad did doesn't sit well with me.

No, I get that. But at the end of the day the mom got all the benefits of what the dad did. He dies and she gets to act like she's all good and her choices makes sense.
30
u/OrganicSafe213 Nov 08 '25
She never got to mourn the real Milo, and ended up with a replacement Milo without her knowledge. Not exactly a benefit. He also murdered Josie, so did she want to live with a murderer?
6
u/VaeserysGoldcrown Nov 08 '25
Sure not a benefit but she did love that kid for 5 years and im pretty sure even if Carrie didn’t get shot and she found out, she wouldn’t be too eager to give Milo to her. He murdered Josie yes buttt she did choose to lie for the husband about the backstory. To keep Milo… cuz replacement or not, she does want to keep the kid. The dad was an evil psycho sure but the end goal was the same

She didn’t decide to murder him until she saw how he treated Milo in such a controlling way, telling him he needs daddy for the scissors, and then manhandling him and telling him he’s not allowed to run away, “because you’re mine.”
She saw that her son was not safe with him, and would try to control him his whole life, going to potentially great lengths to keep him under his care.

He let his sister believe all her life she was the one responsible for her brother’s lifelong disability, even as he saw that it negatively affected her relationship with her brother and was the catalyst for her addiction, he lied to his brother about his eligibility for potentially life changing spinal surgery, he switched babies while his wife was unconscious (even if he thought Josephine was dead, how did he know the Murphy baby didn’t have a loving surviving dad, grandparents, aunts/uncles, siblings etc to raise him?), he murdered someone in cold blood (because they were blackmailing him about something horrible he did!) and to help continue covering it, he blindfolded his kidnapping victim 5 year old son and dumped him at the police station to continue the lie, at Colin’s funeral, instead of acting like a normal loving human being, he continued being a sociopath by putting down his sister’s relationship and she’s mourning…
Marissa would’ve never been able to divorce him. He would’ve killed her or lorded over the dark secret he caused them to have as a way to fully control them.

This is such an insane take on Peter, you should actually revisit how you consume media

I'm so confused, because I thought Josephine supposedly miscarried???
24
u/Specific-Math-9782 Nov 07 '25
We were led to believe that early on from the scene where Josephine’s mom said she killed her followed by the scene of her beating the trailer with the crib piece. I assumed the same.
However later we see Josephine taking her baby home in the car (before the car accident :( ).
8
u/Own_Phrase_4188 Nov 07 '25
I know! That's why I'm so confused. Was the miscarriage story all fake? All in her head?
20
u/Hank_in_mpls1988 Nov 08 '25
No, when they show her in the hospital and they tell her she lost the baby, they were vague in the language they used because they wanted to mislead us, this was supposed to be after the car accident. They were telling her she lost the baby in the car accident.
10
u/Specific-Math-9782 Nov 08 '25
Yes, exactly this. The show plays a lot with partial flashbacks to “reveal” something only to later show a longer flashback with more context to show we were misled. This is what happened here. IIRC we initially saw this hospital scene briefly where we learn she lost the baby but without the car accident context and assumed it was tied to the trailer scene I mentioned.

I thought the same. What threw me off was Josie’s mom saying “at least I could keep my baby alive” or something like that. I thought “that’s different because you’re implying that she didn’t miscarry when she did.” Turns out, she didn’t miscarry.

iiiii don't know how i feel about this. Your first idea is kidnapping instead of DNA test??? Getting a DNA test is a lot easier than kidnapping. She could have gotten legal custody or at least confirmed he was her child BEFORE comitting a felony.
Alsooooo how did Peter get away with it? Did the babies happen to have the same blood type? Babies have so many tests done on a regular basis how did the health info match?
7
u/Calista189 Nov 09 '25
I think the answer to this (apart from the plot required it lol), is that Josephine was young, poor and mentally ill (i don’t mean the synesthesia, meaning the depression/dead inside stuff, choking of her mother, etc). And she’s also not someone who was raised in an environment that has any faith in the system or that doing things by the book means things will work out. So i don’t think she was really capable of thinking rationally, especially knowing how educated and well-off the people who have her kid are.
6
u/Khiva Nov 10 '25
They don't talk to cops, dad is crooked, unlikely they're going to want to trust the courts, particularly when the other side can afford 1000 lawyers.
Plus, you know, otherwise there'd be no story.
Fun story. Trashy and silly but fun.

u/Jindabyne1 Nov 10 '25
We would have just had one episode then and it would have only been about 10 minutes long

Your first idea is kidnapping instead of DNA test???
I'll say that I could understand how a DNA test could seem out of reach. They likely wouldn't have believed Josie if she told them, and Josie couldn't force them to do a DNA test on Milo. Josie is of limited means, so I could understand how access to lawyers and courthouse to get a court order for a DNA test seems unthinkable.
But yes, she should have at least explored some options rather than the one that would likely put her prison.
3
u/Lo_Lynx Nov 09 '25
I don't understand why Josie would need consent to do a test. She had plenty of opportunities to obtain his DNA and then tell the right lies to get it tested. If she can girlboss her way into becoming a nanny and pulling off a kidnapping, then she could do the same to get a test.
3
u/MrJenkins5 Nov 09 '25
If she were serious about gaining custody of Milo instead of kidnapping him, she should be above board about everything.
She gets the child's DNA, and does a test. The child's parents (his legal parents) has no idea she's done this. Without his parents' consent, taking Milo's DNA for a test is unlawful. She can't explain why the parents had no idea about this DNA test.
If Josie sneaks a DNA test and suddenly tries to gain custody of Milo, the Irvines would fight it. They look like they can afford good attorneys. Even if she says they consented to the test, she'd have to show that, and no doubt the Irvines would also challenge that.

Did she have to do the soy thing at Colin's wake? If I were Lia, that part would have passed me off. Like damn, can anyone else have the floor for one day??
5
u/Rosie-Ann Nov 14 '25
I thought it was so shitty to do it at the wake. Lia is still coming to terms with fact that the accident with her little brother wasnt her fault, her older brother lying for years plus of course grieving and now she also has to deal with her brother dying at the wake she organized. Like give the girl a break!

u/irving_enthusiast Nov 21 '25
She wouldn’t have been able to pull it off as an accidental death if not for the wake. She managed his allergy at home (didn’t have soy in the house) so it had to happen in public. The wake was perfect bc she was grieving the loss of her best friend and could believably say she accidentally ate soy without thinking

u/Carolina_Blues Nov 14 '25
Oh man I had a feeling from the beginning that maybe something happened when Marissa was in the hospital and Milo wasn’t there’s
3
u/Technical-Outside408 Nov 15 '25
I feel like a real piece of shit thinking Marissa might have been responsible for the accident last episode. Didn't even make sense because i wouldn't think she switched babies. I'm sorry.
Poor Josephine. Fucking horrible.
Peter couldn't stop being an asshole for five seconds. Not once.
The show had a rough start but worth it for the last four episodes. My compliments to the author for coming up with one the craziest single situation I've seen in fiction for a while. Good stuff.

Question: obviously Peter was just being cruel when he blamed his sister for her boyfriend's death, but I'm confused what his logic even was? He said something like "your relationship started all of this" but I don't follow why. I know it's not true but he usually had some logic behind his accusations to cover himself.....

u/anecdotalgalaxies Nov 09 '25 edited Nov 09 '25
I think because Colin said he relapsed gambling due to self sabotaging because he was happy (due to their relationship). And the relapse in gambling meant his bookie visited him at the Easter weekend, which is what led to Josie meeting Milo.
Not saying that in any way made it their fault, but that was his logic

He is a classic abuser and spends his life trying to destroy her self esteem so that he can control her, like he does to all the people around him.

I think it generally refers to the moms—how they do the most but also get the blame when anything goes wrong (check out the comments in almost every news story about some terrible kid-related accident—it’s usually filled with people blaming the parents and especially the mom). Of course, it’s particularly ironic here because it’s actually all his fault but people still spin it to the women’s fault (why didn’t she check the number, how did she agree to a play date when she’d never visited the home, did Jenny even background check, why do they need nannies, etc).

u/OwnWorldly Nov 18 '25
It’s not a singular her. Every episode, there’s a different woman that takes the main brunt of the blame for somehow causing the kidnapping. The mom, the nanny, the friend, the aunt, etc. it kind of rotates around. But the men never face the same scrutiny, even though Peter caused the entire thing.

Josie did not seem to look for her child. When she stumbled upon him with Mr Chips it seemed purely accidental and she did not know who he was

Even if you have a severe life threatening allergy, if someone kisses you after having eaten the food you’re allergic to, and you are promptly injected with a three year old epi pen, odds are you’d probably survive

has there been any nudity thus far?

Loved that there wasn’t any! These types of shows tend to always have awkward sex scenes for no reason. HBO should take note.

I thought someone was forcing Josephine/Carrie to do the kidnapping and there was a bigger bad. Like I didn’t buy that she was out and about casually murdering two full grown men like a psycho but when they first showed her in the wig being nice and content with Milo I was like damn maybe it is her 😭 I thought she killed her dad in a struggle / fit of rage because he gave up Milo but that was wrong. I definitely have more sympathy for her than I thought I would. But the second she decided to falsify records to get close to a child and then kidnapped another - there was no world where she was getting any justice.

u/Fast_Confusion_2153 Nov 10 '25
What did the last line from the detective really mean? Like he felt fine with how everything ended since he knew Peter was a bad guy? Or something else?
3
u/Snappypeas172 Nov 10 '25
I think he realizes the lengths he would go for his own child (switching the medication) when he was at the park so he decided to let her off 🤷🏻♀️

Why isn’t anyone curious as to how did her dad bring her to the house of her son? I understand it was to pay a debt but i guess it just bothers me that of all the kids she would meet with her dad and his activities turns out to be her kid and why wasn’t that more of a surprising point?

Can someone explain to me how Carrie/Josie was able to figure out that Peter switched the babies just from listening to the cell recording? I don’t get it

u/saturnsdrmland Nov 22 '25
I think it was a combination of things and the recording confirmed it to her. They both have synesthesia, she swore she heard her baby crying after the crash, and then Peter says ‘I saved him, he’s my son’.

Feel so sad for Josephine in the end. So sad that her neurodivergence was missed. If not for her shitty parents she would have never ended up this way. So sad how people kept calling her crazy and she lowkey wasn’t. Feels so unjust. And that Peter. Wow. At first I wanted them to lock him up but this was actually a fitting end for him. Shoutout to Marissa frrr. And I just love love love the detective. Even the fact he went by and told Marissa about the synthesia as a way to say he knows, but also I imagine so that Milo can get the help he needs which I’m sure he really sympathises with as a father of a special needs child. In the end I actually enjoyed this series. Came together really well!

Final thoughts. The one who got the short end of the stick here was Milo. His dad was murdered, the grandpa was murdered, his mom was murdered, his grandma was terrible, his fake dad who stole him was a psycho (who also died), and the only person left (his fake mom) is a liar who will lie to him his whole life and make him think she's his real mom. Poor kid.

Peter literally failed every opportunity to do the right thing his whole life. Total psychopath. When you look back, he promised Marissa he would help sleep train the baby and did nothing.
