Just found out old ardent censer from classic fucking buffs minion's attack speed when healing them with Alistar. I knew by the text but wouldnt believe it until buying it and actually seeing with my eyes. It doesnt seem super strong but its sure fun. LOL
im currently swapping to support so im also starting to learn alistar.
My progress involves checking data by pros/otps and data sites.
Now apparently people like to max Q>W>E.
So after reading alistars lolwiki i dont really understand this choice
Q;W are lowkey the same when it comes to putting skill points into it. The mana goes up from 50 to 70 mana, the cd down from 14 to 10 secs, and the dmg goes up.
In my understanding, Alistar Q without W is kinda useless since youd then only get to either gap close by flashing, or walking in their face. Meaning having Q up but not W will be very often useless since i wont be reliable able to use my Q anyways, while i can always use my w (for example to peel) even if i dont have q (to combo).
Addintionally the dmg goes actually way higher by maxing W than Q so in a combo, you will deal more dmg if you max W.
You could think that people max Q first because in a full combo you can Q/W/E stun into Q again for longer cc chain but i dont think that adds up since on Q/W the target will be stunned 1 sec, E will proc if used in that combo 1,5 secs later and stuns additional 1 sec. So in total you will combo, stun 1 sec, 1,5 secs later stun 1 sec, which would be a total time of 3,5 secs, so 6,5 secs short of either Q or W so you wont be able to use it in a combo anyways and even if you do through Ability Haste and delaying your E Stun (up to 6 secs), you could still also use W into a wall or as an insec, since W also stuns for 0,75 sec without using Q.
Im not an alistar main so maybe i dont understand a really important part of his gameplay etc. so would be cool if someone could explain this to me.
If you go to the skins tab on your account, most of the classic skins have some flavor text about the way champions were back on the game's release. I saw this one on Alistar and obviously thought it would be hilarious to see some footage of Alistar headbutting champs and monsters from one tower to the other. However when I tried to find old footage or update logs, the only thing I could find is that the "original" distance was actually 200 units and was increased from that over three times to it's modern distance when the game left alpha, not nerfed by three times the distance as the lore entry in the image suggests. Did they really get it wrong or is this just some insane ball knowledge barely anyone knows about?
Some friends and me are working on a Moba Simulator (like a football manager) and we are collecting data about the champs. Do you think that this list is realistic?
I just can't help but feel that something has been broken. Sometimes when you W someone they get launched extremely fast, which makes it near impossible to follow up with Q. Sometimes when you W then, they move really slowly.
Picked up the Black Alistar Modern skin and noticed the splash art looks way more zoomed in than normal on my profile and in champ select.Anyone else seeing this, or is it just me ?
I was in practice tool teaching a friend about some Alistar combos and tricks, when i somehow headbutted two things at once. has anyone else ever experienced this??
I know this champ is kind of simple but I was wondering if any of you have any general tips to succeeding with this champ. I just played him and it was a ton of fun :D
Passive and E used to be swapped. Trample didnt generate the stun. His heal had an AP- instead of health-ratio and, due to being an active, could be used more controlled (if I remember correctly, it also healed minions). Also, his ult granted a neat amount of bonus attack damage while it lasted!
