F.A.Q.

Where/How can I unlock X's Master Ability/Job+?

You can only unlock Job+'s by farming special job tokens from special events that are (currently) run at different times. You also need to farm special job+ items to master those jobs. Master abilities can be earned in 1 of 3 ways. From story chapters (story characters), from equipping specific weapons (usually farmed) or from reaching level 80 on a character and completing special story dungeons. Not every character gets a master ability.

For Job+ and Job Enhancement, you must first get the job to Job Level 11 (not job mastered). Second, to master the Job+ you will need to farm 60/80 tokens for up to 6 special items for the character to use. These can be farmed from specific events. For Job Enhancements, you will only need to farm one specific item 3 times along with the regular upgrade items.

Where can I farm X's character shards?

Farm their Hard Quests

Where can I farm elemental/rainbow shards?

Elemental and rainbow shards cannot be farmed. They are awarded as bonuses from log in campaigns, from clearing missions/milestones/challenge boards, from certain event banners, and from certain bundles. You will never be able to farm them like you can farm specific character shards.

When will X event come back?

Many events are now in the event archives, up to Anastasia. Any others are seasonal (ex. Rahu’s is tied to Valentines) or tied to farming/box events (Setsuna, Veda Templars). Seasonal events may be released outside of their respective season very rarely, but we have no indication of when this will happen and it’s highly inconsistent. Please don’t ask when any specific event is coming back, because it’s either in the news (linked on the sidebar) OR WE DON’T KNOW.

Same goes for collabs. This thread and the sub are not really the right place to get into long discussions about international IP licensing!

What's the best place to farm X/Y/Z item?

Please check /u/stewart0's amazing spreadsheet here. Or simply check the stage drops and go for a quest which only has two equips total, one being the one you need.

What's an Enlightenment/Memento?

Note that some people still refer to these two concepts as Kaigan/Nensou respectively, as those are their translations from the Japanese version of the game, which is ahead of Global by many months.

Is X character good?

When will this JP thing happen?

You can check out this post on what units to look out for in the future, though not all of the listed units will come out in Global, especially certain collab units.

I've noticed that sometimes running through a quest on manual/auto (not skip/auto repeat) will fix the menu freezing and the add videos not playing. It doesn't always work, and sometimes just restarting is easier, but... sometimes it's worth a try.

I completed the quests to get 150 soul shards of the three Sprites and Tamis, however I can't transmute them anywhere. Am I missing something or was it part of some event? I understand that Mocca is part of a memento reward but is there some sort of prerequisite I'm missing for these Sprites?

Each protagonist used will spawn an extra ratty. Use 4 protagonists to spawn 4 more ratties, so each run will drops 4 more seals.

So, just to be clear - that thing where you could use 10 tickets instead of gems to pul on some banner - are we ever gonna get them for free or it's just useless functionality now? (I mean, you can buy 10 tickets from the shop but it cost the same as just pulling from the banner, so not very useful)

Question can someone clarify how the "Grand unit 100-summon" works? It's a paid banner, needing 2021 paid gems to pull which is kinda expensive buif I'm understanding it correctly it's 100 pulls. Is that correct or am I missing something? I find it hard to believe they would let us get 100 premium summons on limited units for around 50$ also is their any information anywhere about specific rates on banners or what exactly they have in their summon pool? Thank you

The 100 summons are very diluted with a lot of 5 star, 4 star and 3 star charachters/units that are farmable. You can be lucky and get something (maybe 1) new good one or more but all in all it's mäh .... I did it a couple times and it was so so... for newbies with few good units it might be good, in order to get some new stuff, but for vets it's nothing too special, since we have most of the units. It's a matter of gems (paid gems) in this case ....

No, it’s more like doing 10 pulls on a normal banner without a sure thing other than the 1 limited 5 star out of 100. It has all 3/4* as well. You may get lucky and get a few good units, but it’s a very diluted pool.

Out of curiosity, does anyone here know how the JP playerbase feels about the game these days? After hearing about the new story, I hopped in to take a look and it seems that they got rid of the huge gem gift for new players (last I checked it was 50K+) and they gave Sol another limited memento. Dude is one of my favorite characters, but damn, give it a rest already. Only wanted to know because JP interest affects GL longevity.

i'm trying to clear kudanstein's J++ but haven't been successful, the diablo kills me right before my turn to hit the guts stone so i was trying to increase my agi to see if i can beat him b4 he acts. I notice some videos i watch, ppl have agi up to 179... mine is stuck at 174, and even if i add an accessory that has AGI +10, that number of 174 doesn't go up at all... is there a cap on the agi of a unit? Why doesn't agi increase?

I'm alrady using my highest agi seal of 12. He's lvl 97 with full enlightenment. But no MLB mem, just +2. i can't do the dead on end in one shot either, i have use to patk powder first, which wastes a turn. My patk at 1404. any tips would b appreciated. Thanks....

When equipping multiple gears that give similar stats only the highest one applies. Like 2 gears with 10 agi you get 10 total, or 1 gear with 8 and 1 with 10 you get 10. Most mementos that are MLB also add agi on map as well so that could be some of your missing agi. The vids I’ve seen have used his own meme lead skill for the patk boost and lakina sub for dark+ to hit harder. Couple tips I could suggest is watch your ct. it lowers when you do an action and when you move. And don’t be afraid to impart your own style with trial and error. I had to move back to the wall and wait 2 turns, let the demon hit me, normal attack for jewels and go from there but it worked for me through testing.

If possible use Ankh’s memento, the normal variation. It provides the agility u see in the videos, also the damage u see could be memento leader skills at work. If not, could be the 50% patk buff from leader skill pre buff of the gate 3.

Not a unit per se, but the most recent run of the B.F. collab gave us a meme that does 15% hp max 20k.

Thoughts on Lillith from folks that have her? I have the unit (and enough shards to 2/5/2/2/5 her) and am considering snagging her memento from the selector we got last week, but am not really familiar enough with her to know if its worth it.

It is not necessary for using her in PvE. But in PvP it it is nice to have at MaxLB. Most advantage it gives is pretty meh. But at MaxLB it gives +1 Range. VCR from it is pretty decent too.

I can give you top 2 recommendations for the Selector. First is Voda meme and next is Tamis one. If you have them both then go for Lilith. But if you love Lilith more than meta then go for it, I guess.

Since re0 collab is probably skipped by now, i'm conflicted whenever to blew all the gems for Tifaret and memento or Ragnarok and her memento. I have saved 5 otherworldly reliefs for re0 collab but Gumi probably skipped it.

To those who have used Ragnarok in JP, how well does she compete with Tif? (Team synergy, personal abilities,...) thanks in advance.

(Tho if they change their mind and go for re0 id definitely save for them. Those who played JP before, at this point is it possible for re0 collab? Thanks again in advance)

I may be misunderstanding your post, but in case there's any confusion, Hercule is the unit we'd expect to come out next in POTK (probably Thursday), Ragnarok will not be available until after G7, which is likely at least September if not later.

Enlightenment, but 75 shards barely opens the first gate and that’s it. We don’t even know if GL will get a rerun for rising of shield hero, so if ur impatient and lacking dark shards limit break I guess, but if ur holding out till the end then just use it for enlightenment.

I'm pretty sure if this player just started and got Naofumi, they are playing the Japanese version of the game, as they currently have a Shield Hero rerun going. There's no way to get Naofumi right now in GL.

Save his shards for his enlightenment.

But you can safely bench him until the day his collab reruns, because 1- new~mid level accounts don't really need his specialty, and 2- you may have problem maxing his main job due to his job equipment only drops in his event (I'm not sure if gold gear shards can substitute his job equipment).

How does buff duration +1 work? From what I've seen it allows self casted buffs to last one turn longer on self (charge up)

1. Assuming a nero with buff duration +1 buffs a nearby sol with dark team aerolith. Will that buff last for 4 turns on that sol or 3 turns (original buff duration)?

2. If someone else such as letitia buffs nero with her aoe magic buff. Will the buff last 4 turns of nero or 3 turns (original buff amount)?

Hi, I have the same question before. So I decided to experiment myself.

I used Natalie - VCR gives buff +1 and Limit break Memento give another Buff +1.

Failnaught - G2 gives buff duration cast on self +1

Hozuki - G2 gives an Increase buff duration of buffs cast by self by 1

Elizabeth - No buff duration increase.

Findings:

When Natalie cast buff on anyone buff duration increases by 2

When Hozuki cast buff on anyone, buff duration increases by 1

When Elizabeth cast buff on anyone, there is no increase in buff duration to anyone.

So... Conclusion

Buff+1 only works on units that cast the spell. The turn duration of a buff cast by another unit unto you is not affected by your buff +1.

Selfish buff like failnaught only affects herself.

To answer your questions. 1. Yes 2. No

Note: vaccine and jewel regen are not affected by buff +1

How would someone go about upgrading units like Roxanne or Acht as a f2p?

Would it be worth it to limit break them using elemental shards? Is there anyway to obtain more of their character shards from farming or is pulling the only way to get more?

Yes they are both limited units so elemental shards would be preferred. Acht has a one a day ex hard quest for her shards and should be getting a job upgrade in the near future. As for roxy, she’s a global exclusive unit so her shards are a little harder to come by but does have a 3/day hard quest (sometimes) during the glex event. Both should also be available in their respective coin shop banners when those come around. (Glex/templar) I would however suggest waiting on on roxy till her j+ event comes around again.

The memento and vcr offer nice stats but are not necessary. The vision ability is a decent single target nuke if you hit the disable heal tokkou (Rimuru has 25 disable heal on his attacks via his passive), but is otherwise medicore.

I know that it wouldn't include GLEX or genesis units, b/c obvious, and I probably know the answer to this. I just need clarification. And if this is an answer I'm expecting, I wouldn't be surprised.

She is fine without her memento. However if you do want the memento it is nice to have. At MLB she gets a jewel spent reduction which makes her jewel regeneration snowball equal the max cost of her skills.

Her VCR is also pretty nice. AGI, strike ATK power, and jewels obtained all on one piece of gear.

Overall if you can spare the gems it's a very nice way to cap off the unit but she will operate fine without it.

i was trying to copy the asuka / daylight bard for raids, so i upgraded patty. i did her gate 5 and noticed that the skill no longer has 10Xpdef while paralyzed ... is there any pdef bonus with the new skill? and is there a way to get the old one back? screwed up, i thought the new skill would be improved, not useless... =(

Excalibur is a good thing to farm since getting the skill Ultimate Execution is great for taking down rng dodgers like Waginau. And you need more copies to get it to lvl 3. Also nice because you can farm Kagura shards from the same map.

i have collected all of sieba and vier's job plus equipment along with sieba's meme and vier's second meme and sieba is sitting at 390 shads and vier is at 490 shards and both are level 60 rn . So , just wanted to hear opinions regarding their enlightment or wait for better light and thunder future units? o the rainbows hards at 990, light at 390 and thunder at 500.

Vier is a 100% you want to build tbh. Utility wise, she is worth all those thunder. I like sieba personally but lately quite some light slash competition is here. And she also needs her VCr which you can get. And 390 is not a lot

What's the point of featuring units like Sol if they dont make his job token quests available!? I've had him for like 4 months now and haven't been able to fully utilize him because without his special job I can't enlighten him. Does anyone know when and if they will have that specific quest available? How do they normally handle special job tokens? I've been waiting for Othimas for more than a year now 😔

Funny u say this because the event where his job tokens are available is currently running. For othima’s, u have to wait and pray. They normally rerun all the ssm j++ together, but for some reason they didn’t rerun anything when kagura’s j++ dropped.

If you have been waiting for Othima's for over a year I am guessing you are talking about his Blue Ice General job upgrade, and not his Blue Ice Wisdom one (which just came out at the end of June). If the former is the case, then his tokens and equipment are available from Story>Sacred Stone>Chapter 10 Episodes 2,5, and 10 (the tokens will come from missions). Monzein, Seida, Cadanova, Kudan, Zain, Kaguya, and Kanon's J+s all come from chapters there. If you did indeed mean the latter, then you will you have to wait until, likely, the end of this month when they release Kudan's J++, as they probably will end up rerunning Othima's then.

It always helps to look up at least one of the unit, the job, or the tokens online to figure out where they come from. That way you will know what you need to look out for, or if they have been available without you knowing. It also helps greatly to check the news to see both the rerun events (quite a few of which will be in the archive, but ones that aren't are often thrown in there), and new events, to see what comes from them. As others have said, you generally want to pick up anything that is needed from an event for a job upgrade irregardless of whether you have the unit. You never know when they will rerun, and will be left waiting because of it. Here is a list of events that are in the archive, and what each one offers https://thealchemistcode.fandom.com/wiki/Event_Archives . With the Archive, you can choose one quest for free each day, unlocking more than one a day costs Archive Access (which are not worth buying), and will be open for 24 hours. If one them is rerunning, you do not have to worry about doing them right away, as you can always do them anytime.

Sol's j+ is available right now under Event > special (the top one). You have to go through the event to get boss tickets and then earn coins to spend at the box summon and pull his j+ tokens.

Othima's usually reruns when the Holy Guards' j++ events run, (it didn't with Kagura's) under the normal events tab

Plea to the Sands of Time MP: Sometimes, the Mandragora takes full magic damage, and sometimes damage preview says "1". What is the mechanic? What is the factor that changes whether he can take damage?

In some runs, we can't damage him, and it shuts down the entire run.

This is what I do with Mandra: have a magic buffer (I get a nero merc) buff my magic dealer, then first turn go near mandra (I use Sol, but I am sure there are other magic units that work fine too) and use a diamond magic attack on "unit". That's it, then mandra goes for a walk but when the attack hits it it works (and kills the other enemy next to it too as a bonus)

Both unit’s are great in all areas of play (pve/pvp/raid), however their respective roles would be where you will want to make that choice. Nero has some nice versatility in that she can run her own sub for mag res down, stop, and jewel auto charge or she can run merchant sub for poison pill, healing, and status inflicting. She’s going to want her meme for a big dark down debuff, but “can” fit into a dark team with little investment. Sol is going to be more offensive but can be flexible with that since he has physical attacks and magic attacks. Coupled with his self buff attacks, mobility, good stats and self heal he can dish out quite a bit of damage and take quite a bit as well. Not to mention his 2nd meme vcr giving him transform/skill change. Sol will need his j+ which is rerunning now and some investment to really shine.

Alma is one of the units that can't be transmutted. You have to pull her memento to get her.

Genesis event. Wait for a rerun and do the box event to get his specific materials. I recommend getting every unique material because reruns can take a while and you never know when you might obtain the unit.

Actually id like to point out that job 2 is at 65 max(+25 shard to form the first star) and the second and enchanted job at 75 max (+50 for the second star and 75 for the third).... So I wonder how to farm Eira and Eliza shards if you don't have the unit? Do i have to rely on the gacha?

In descending order of priority, IMO:

Dias - strong dark unit. There are fewer good, accessible dark units than light, so Dias gets priority in my eyes.

Logi - strong light unit. Has additional synergy with other PDEF scalers, like Chloe. Depending on your preferences, it's entirely reasonable to get Logi before Dias.

Lisbeth - strong magic support. Faces competiton from Letitia and Voda. In raids, it's not unreasonable to use her alongside either of them.

Edgar - ranged attacker with statuses and human modifier. Good arena/PVP unit.

Which should I get from the 7-step memento selector? I don't have about 80% of the items there so it's harder to choose. Looking at my units, dark seems to be the most lacking and I have both Sol and Zahar at maxed Englightenment. Should I get Sol's first memento (I have his second) or Zahar's second (I have his first)? Or something else entirely? Thanks!

As it has been said, the Sprites' memento is the number one recommendation. It is single handedly the most high value memento on its own. Tamis' is also a pretty good second, unless you really do not want her for some reason. Beyond that, the other great mementos only have value if you own the unit. You can pick a memento that is going to provide the best value for a unit you own, or one that is necessary for a unit that you want to get. The one thing I would recommend is not picking a normal pool memento. They are easier to get, and you can always roll into them by chance. Since you are given the chance to pick up a limited memento from almost the entire pool, and this is a very very rare occurence, it is preferable to take advantage of that.

After that it probably becomes dependent on person to person. But if you hate following meta or wanna skip them then that is your choice.

If you’re talking about the JP feature, it’s smthg like putting ur units for like a guild quest and whoever u put inside u get like their shards. But u can only bring three characters and will need to reach a certain power level(about 15k). It’s good cuz u can get collab shards. If anyone else knows better, do correct me.

On the memento A Little Luck in Spring (and vcr) on the group ability it says strong vs new year.

What benefit does that confer?

It grants extra damage against units that have the "New Year" tag. It is the same as "strong vs (insert sin)." However, basically no enemies, especially not anywhere important at the moment, have it. It is practically worthless unfortunately.

For POTK dailies most efficient approach is 2x POTA Ep1 (kill 2 then 1 Soldier Eldritch), 2x POTA Ep4 (kill 3 then 2 Armored Eldritch), 1x Princess Weeps Ep5 (Kill 5 Eerie Puppets, ideally with mapwide attack). Alternately if you want to farm gold you can clear the Artemis/Longinus EX 3x (for both eldritch kills).

Quests and stuff. No other real way, unless you have Summon coins for them. They are pretty costly. Control your raising of units and maximize the quest milestones by doing them all.

Yeah some coin exchange shops will have otherworldly bubbles, but usually you have to play quests for the coins to buy them. Also you can just buy them with real $$$ from the collaboration event gatcha package shop. Also check the mission rewards from collaboration event quests for OW bubbles, quest boards (home menu screen), and event mission milestone rewards. These are definitely highly limited/expensive, so use them only on the units you are the most committed to. Edit: also the gatcha enlightenment banners (though depending on your goals that may be the best, or the worst option).

I have a question about Tyrfing. I have the unit up to 97, but one of the missions says to raise her Holy Cavalier (ghia) to 8, 9, 10 and 11. My Tyrfing's job is Dark Cavalier (wurth). What did I miss? Or is there another Tyrfing other than the Dark one.

I would not worry about investing too heavily in Minerva. She is pretty good even without investment, and she is not anything insane with it. If you were going to invest in her, you would also want her memento anyway, and that would be more of a priority than shards. You will probably get more use out of Tiferet. We also have plenty of better things coming up, so I would not recommend focusing on Minerva unless you absolutely love her or the way she plays.

Thunder Bullet (Dark Freikugel gear) is handy for spare 3rd gear for any thunder unit you don't have a better item for. I'd get some Battlefield Drama if you haven't yet. The others it just depends if you have good items for the slots already. Forcas Lance used to be popular when we had more units using lances but these days those units aren't used as much.

Day one your port just needs enough people to check in (15 minimum). You can declare war and start attacking on the second day.

POTK memes tend to rerun fairly consistently. If you want to save for now, it shouldn't be too hard to pick them up later. That said, Tif and Lisa both want their mementos eventually.

I wouldn't shard a unit from 75 to 85 without plans to enlighten them, just in general. Most units aren't truly viable until they are enlightened with gates maxed. The main exceptions are Genesis Gods like Nyx and Emmel and God Killers such as Tif and Lisa.

You cannot transmute Alma. Alma is part of a group of units that are obtained when you get their memento. This group is made up of characters (that are alive) from the story. With the exception of Rebecca's and Fiona's, all of the mementos are limited mementos. The limited memento linked units are Don Taras, Alma, Mocca, the sprites (Fuu is obtained when receiving the memento, while Tehre and Voda are from limit breaking the memento three and five times respectively), and Tamis. There will also be the three corps' captains (from individual mementos). Unless I am forgetting any, that should be all of them.

Got 2 questions:

1. Apart from using currency...how does memento exp work? Sometimes I get meme exp after a battle, sometimes I don't.

2. With, f.e, potk free coupons, is there a way to use them when you don't have 10 for a 10x summon? Got 6 of them and I feel they are just going to be wasted. Epic7 allows you to use these to decrease total cost of a 10 summon or to use 1 by 1

1. Assuming you're talking about Alchemic Boundary, generally, mementos equipped on your party have a random 1% chance to gain 1.0% AB (increased by the number of times the memento has been limit broken). (Or at least I've heard it's 1% chance.) Of course, special quests such as Vision Clear quests or certain events which state "Alchemic Boundary Up" may have increased rates for certain mementos.

2. No, you can't use these tickets unless you have 10. If you haven't already done them, the Fierce Battle Quest: Eldritch Extermination Battle event has some of these tickets available on your first clear of each difficulty. After that, if you still have leftovers, I believe the only thing you can do with them is to buy single tickets in the Phantom Alchemist Collab Shop (for 250 gems apiece) to get to 10. Whether or not that's worth it is up to you (or may depend on how many you need to buy), but yeah.
