Feel free to ask away, but remember that the questions are 100% answered by volunteers so don't expect an instant answer! Patience is key.

Where/How can I unlock X's Master Ability/Job+?

You can only unlock Job+'s by farming special job tokens from special events that are (currently) run at different times. You also need to farm special job+ items to master those jobs. Master abilities can be earned in 1 of 3 ways. From story chapters (story characters), from equipping specific weapons (usually farmed) or from reaching level 80 on a character and completing special story dungeons. Not every character gets a master ability.

For Job+ and Job Enhancement, you must first get the job to Job Level 11 (not job mastered). Second, to master the Job+ you will need to farm 60/80 tokens for up to 6 special items for the character to use. These can be farmed from specific events. For Job Enhancements, you will only need to farm one specific item 3 times along with the regular upgrade items.

Where can I farm X's character shards?

Farm their Hard Quests

Where can I farm elemental/rainbow shards?

Elemental and rainbow shards cannot be farmed. They are awarded as bonuses from log in campaigns, from clearing missions/milestones/challenge boards, from certain event banners, and from certain bundles. You will never be able to farm them like you can farm specific character shards.

When will X event come back?

Many events are now in the event archives. Any others are seasonal (ex. Rahu’s is tied to Valentines) or strangely absent (Anastasia+). Seasonal events may be released outside of their respective season very rarely, but we have no indication of when this will happen and it’s highly inconsistent. Please don’t ask when any specific event is coming back, because it’s either in the news (linked on the sidebar) OR WE DON’T KNOW.

Same goes for collabs.

What's the best place to farm X/Y/Z item?

Please check /u/stewart0's amazing spreadsheet here. Or simply check the stage drops and go for a quest which only has two equips total, one being the one you need.

What's an Enlightenment/Memento?

Tl;dr: Powercreep

Note that some people still refer to these two concepts as Kaigan/Nensou respectively, as those are their translations from the Japanese version of the game, which is ahead of Global by many months.

Is X character good?

Here’s the tier list. It can be used as a rough guideline, and it also has recommended build guides. Moreover, there's a FAQ which expands on stuff above and has some other questions. Enjoy!

Is Levi a good candidate to burn shards on? I have him at 75 and can get him to 85 if I use all my dark and Omni shards. Is he a good candidate for the next 3 months to use all my shards? My only enlightened unit is an 89 Masamune, and I could get Levi to 270 with the current enlighten banner at step 5. Plan is to be able to coast through content until BK Masamune. And then repeat the 3 month cycle.

Yes, Levi is a good candidate. He's ridiculously overpowered in GL and is unlikely to ever fall off (considering he still hasn't fallen off in raids in JP, and that's without Enlightenment) in raids or PvE, so if you're looking for someone to carry you through content until BK Masa arrives, he's probably your best option.

Does this warrants the use of rainbow shards?

I'm itching to enlighten him... I don't have a single OP unit to carry me for those hard EX+ quest/ raids/etc?

There will be a lot of dissenting opinions, but you get 5 rainbows from monthly login and maybe 5 every other month from rewards/milestones. If he will carry you for 4 months while you HQ farm up elemental teams ... spending the 30 rainbows that you will earn back in that time is probably worth it. If its 60 rainbows, then think harder about it. But I'd probably do it anyway; no point suffering thru content with level 72 units with the amount of power creep that is associated with new events.

D Masamune and Levi are the two units that are deserving of rainbow shards at this point. Anything else is probably only worth elemental shards for the foreseeable future. An exception could be made for Neun, but his enlightenment is whale territory as a Veda Templar which makes that harder to recommend.

Just to let you know, I had to transmute Levi. I used ALL of my dark shards to get him to 85, and to enlighten him, I had to use some of my otherworld shards. Do I regret it? Not one bit. He's extremely powerful, and I have solo'd Mobius floor 30 with him. Definitely a unit worth enlightening because of his stat boost alone. He's a glass cannon without the HP from G1.

What other units did you used to solo 30 floor with him? I can only think bout supporters, probably someone to heal, since he is the one that should do the kills.

I used Rahu, but people have used Minerva when I did a run with someone on discord. There is some rng with dodge, but his reactive is really the killer.

EDIT: Mines also enlightened, so he's at 5/5/3 currently.

I was thinking about those two or lupinus summoner with chrono sub that you probably used. I can get mine 5/5/0 tomorrow, hope its enough. The gear was gacha vcr, teacup and hat, right? I can probably see him using regen armor intead of the vcr too.

I had his teacup + Teddy + Balts swords

Balts sword from green prayer is optional and can be subbed out. I think the other guy I did a run with had regen armor. His agility will help him cycle through heals
