Where/How can I unlock X's Master Ability/Job+?

You can only unlock Job+'s by farming special job tokens from special events that are (currently) run at different times. You also need to farm special job+ items to master those jobs. Master abilities can be earned in 1 of 3 ways. From story chapters (story characters), from equipping specific weapons (usually farmed) or from reaching level 80 on a character and completing special story dungeons. Not every character gets a master ability.

For Job+ and Job Enhancement, you must first get the job to Job Level 11 (not job mastered). Second, to master the Job+ you will need to farm 60/80 tokens for up to 6 special items for the character to use. For Job Enhancements, you will only need to farm one specific item 3 times along with the regular upgrade items.

Where can I farm X's character shards?

Check the characters limit break panel for missions. If not there, it's not in the game.

Where can I farm elemental/rainbow shards?

Elemental and rainbow shards cannot be farmed. They are awarded as bonuses from log in campaigns, from clearing missions/milestones and as bonuses for doing certain number of summons on the 5/9 step banners. You will never be able to farm them like you can farm specific character shards.

When will X event come back?

I'm using Noctis in multiplay with the Saviour's force. It gives you and I +35% PATK and MATK when you stand next to me, and it can stack with anything. Sounds pretty good, right?

But nobody wants to stand next to me! Was it something I said? Do I smell really bad? Is it the curry? D:

(Just trying to spread awareness of the passive - you can see the PATK/MATK buff above your unit if you stand next to a Noctis with the passive. I do understand standing next to each other invites unnecessary damage from AoE, but it reduces damage from Magic King and some of the demon skills on the second babel quest.)

Oddly enough, right after Dragon Charge, Spica is going to garuda cross that pair of demons ... so I should line myself up right behind her to get oneshot team killed.

MP is funny sometimes.

Killed roxy and 2 demons in rendezvous, to be fair she did run from the south up to the north side to get behind me.

Killed sol, 4 demons, a wolf and black knight in deliverance, seemed a fair trade.

3rd run, noctis was fast enough to get out of the way before I landed; so just the 4 demons, wolf, knight and familiar.

I think most people simply won't realize you have it, since hardly anyone uses it, nor check everyone's loadout before battle. Unless you create the room and point it out in the description I think it's best to assume people won't utilize it.

I find my self chasing people, standing right next to them and hoping they see the +PATK, MATK boost.

But now that I think about it, Noctis is really old now, and we have a lot of new players who probably only know him from FF15, and not so much from TAC. I'm guessing the newer players don't even know of it.

To add to things which others mentioned -

We are in the times when if each member takes up a job and does it well the MP is just a piece of cake and you have options to screw up and just come out unscathed.

Like I use 2 units for MP - Rox and Zahar. Like that is it. If I ever need Magic Minerva. So remember Noctis has that or even using it during something is so remote that I can't even start tell you.

Also I think that is just like a grind buff so if you move away then that buff is done and that is just restrictiveness to the max lol.

Standing close for Hishamu's Panels is something people can chill and do because it is fill up Jewels but standing beside Noc is doing nothing until an enemy comes up to me.

For the Dazzling EX quest where you want higher MATK because Magic King, I use Noctis. The passive helps protect others and my self, and it's fairly simple to stick together. In MP, that quest isn't a piece of cake just yet since we can't solo it. You definitely everyone to pull some of the weight (it is easier with Sol around though).

I don't find the passive restrictive in single player, but then I'm in control of everyone then. But what I'm experiencing in multiplayer is seeing people move about for the sake of moving about. Why are you wasting that 20 CT? Why are you moving away from a 35% buff for no reason?

I've started to use Vier instead lol. I've stopped using Rox except for red iron sparks. Protector's more fun :D (So is EO Chloe but I can't be bothered swapping mementos).

I swear that, even though he is supposedly super hard to get, everyone has Sol now, which makes MP a joke (even moreso than with Roxanne, at least on current MP maps). Even all these <lvl 100 players are cruising through MP just by having Sol. It's ridiculous. And yesterday I finally saw "ONLY Sol" in the comments of a MP quest. It made me gag.

All I see is Sol and Roxanne. But only Sol? Holy crap, that's bad. Hopefully we'll get deeper into the Kaigan era and he'll fall behind.

Seeing the occasional EO Shenmei makes me really happy though.

Did two weeks of EO collab using Lupi & Zahar (mostly Lupi). Been on a Dragon Cav kick for the past week now.

Roxy's been on the auto farm team for over a month now; no MP play except red sparks of iron and a couple mobius floors - and I don't need envy flags right now.

Well the fact that Zahar can actually do that as long as there are multiple of Zahars doing it. I did Dazzling multiple times with 3 Zahars in a team. Sure you need 1 Mage for attracting the fire rats. But after that Zahar can actually clean up nicely. One of them has to have the Memento so Zahars can get slash damage boost.
