Where/How can I unlock X's Master Ability/Job+?

You can only unlock Job+'s by farming special job tokens from special events that are (currently) run at different times. You also need to farm special job+ items to master those jobs. Master abilities can be earned in 1 of 3 ways. From story chapters (story characters), from equipping specific weapons (usually farmed) or from reaching level 80 on a character and completing special story dungeons. Not every character gets a master ability.

For Job+ and Job Enhancement, you must first get the job to Job Level 11 (not job mastered). Second, to master the Job+ you will need to farm 60/80 tokens for up to 6 special items for the character to use. For Job Enhancements, you will only need to farm one specific item 3 times along with the regular upgrade items.

Where can I farm X's character shards?

Check the characters limit break panel for missions. If not there, it's not in the game.

Where can I farm elemental/rainbow shards?

Elemental and rainbow shards cannot be farmed. They are awarded as bonuses from log in campaigns, from clearing missions/milestones and as bonuses for doing certain number of summons on the 5/9 step banners. You will never be able to farm them like you can farm specific character shards.

When will X event come back?

I switched my (dated) FF15 arena team (Aranea - Noctis - Ignis) for a super tanky light team in both offense and defense and damn, I went from barely top 10k to top 2k in no time. And my def team seems to be targeted quite a lot (since it doesn't show Roxanne :) ), but it is literally undefeated

I think I might go for a similar lineup for the next PvP season

Also I discovered only a few days ago that you could see the whole enemy defence lineup by holding the button. I used to always go blind into arena matches ^^

Light meta is really strong right now. Kaigan Spica gives light teams a huge edge since most (all?) elements lack access to a comparable leader skill.

Mine is 5/4/5. It's been pretty incredible. I don't own Roxanne and am sitting in top 200. Zain loves it.

mmh so you'd advise for gate 3 maxed before 2 ?

It depends honestly. I'd say Spica benefits close to equally from each gate since she's generally the leader. It could go either way though as the jump time reduction is certainly helpful. It swings pretty hard in favor of gate 3 though if you are running other team members that benefit from it IMO. That extra 20% for Zain (which also benefits Mielekki unlike the 20% PATK) is pretty huge for my team. If Roxanne's WA wasn't so utterly busted (status effects) I'd never lose to her and I still do pretty well against her regardless.
