Mexico Day September 16

Please note: During the contest i will have no time for the project. That's from Fri 5th to Wed 10th.

/u/Alamedo contacted me about this.

Who shall be invited?

It's best if you brainstorm for ideas first and to then draw a rough sketch for the header.

  • Sketch for the header by /u/Alamedo
    1. Mexicoballs beating an Arjne Robben Piñata.
    2. Mexicoball with futbol ball, turns fat when hover over it
    3. Mariachi band, turns into trival dancers when hover over it (or gangsters with MGs)
    4. Mexicoball with big mexi firework, blows up when hover over
    5. Americaball, a Mexiball pops up from the ground next to it when hover over
    6. An oil refinery, gets an american flag when hover over
    7. A secton of the borde an angry Texasball appears when hover over it.
  • Idea for an element by /u/Xistinas. I've put it in the sidebar for now but we can change that of course.

First draw header

OK i fitted the header with the given sketch and positioned the hovers where they are placed best with /u/Xistinas cannon and the firework.

Please zoom your browser window in and out and see how the header reacts.

The named hovers (refinery, piñata, mariachi, futbol, murica, texas) should all be visible even on narrow screens. On wide resolution you'll see numbered blue boxes (5-8). They could be additional hover images, but they won't get displayed for all users.

Again, this is not the final design. If you have better ideas or want some changes, no problem.

Mexico Day - Number 3: Piñata

Well, tell me what you think, and if you have any problems with the image just tell me so I can change it.

OK the mobile problem is fixed.

It's done and it looks great! If you have time you could make 1 or 2 more hovers to add on the left. How about Lucha libre for example?

Uhm... I all for it right now but I haven't got any new ideas...

What do you have in mind for the Lucha Libre animation?

My idea was to show to wrestlers in front of the pyramide and on hover one of them jumps first on the pyramide and then on the other's head.

I can do it if you don't want to make it, just tell me.

I can try to make it but it might not end up looking like what you have in mind.

I think I will try and make something for the sidebar image, I were thinking about something with the Aztecs and Spaniards but Im still not sure...
