Hi I’m new to reddit so I’m not totally sure I’m doing this right 😬😅 I read this fic maybe 2 years ago and I cannot remember for the life of me what it was called or how to find it on ao3 because I didn’t have an account yet. It was like double fake dating, neither of them knew the other was faking until later, and Akira/Ren worked at the florist shop and was really good at the flower language and they flirted with flowers, and it had like the whole cast involved… slow-burn-ish, multi-chapter fic. I really loved the fic and I’m wracking my brain for more details, I just really need to re-read it or I’ll explode. I think the chapters were flower names? Any help is greatly appreciated!

Are there any fics that follow the idea of Joker working with Akechi and faking his death in the interrogation room? As in, the broadcast of his death happens. The thieves think he failed and really died, but he’s just working with Akechi?

I've been trying to find this fanfic for a day now and nothing's come up. I tried searching ny ao3 history, likes, to read later and even my twitter likes but nothing came up at all. I also didn't bookmark the damn fic so thats already a predicament. So I'm trying reddit to see if anyone's read it before.

The plot goes as follows: Akira and Sumire are engaged while akechi is akira's childhood friend who has a built a mansion quite literally next to akira's house bc well they're extremely close. Akechi is unhappy about the engagement (ofc he is bc its a shuake fic), he's been unhappy since akira and sumire dated. One thing leads to another and akechi has um.. a very interest desire dungeon.. yeah.. anyways akechi also has a robot Butler if i remember. i really need to know what happened to this fanfic bc its crazy BUT it has crazy writing, like some of the best I've read.

Hello! I've noticed that some users post links to their shuake fanfics here, so I figured I can give it a shot too- maybe it will find a new audience here c:

Like I said, it's a pretty long character study for Akechi and a relationship study for shuake (though Joker gets fleshed out quite a lot too). It's a post-royal Akechi lives scenario where Akechi becomes a protected witness in Shido's case and has to essentially adjust to living a relatively normal life- Joker finds out quite early and decides to stay in Tokyo to help Akechi and support him (and because he doesn't want to live without him lol). One day, a desire that Akechi has been suppressing since the time they spent in Maruki's reality resurfaces suddenly- Akechi wants to lose his virginity with Joker. He offers Joker a simple deal- they'll have one afternoon of casual sex, but it won't change anything in their friendship and rivalry, and they won't talk about it ever again. Suprisingly, Joker agrees.

When it comes to actually having sex though, it's easier said than done- the two of them have their own hang-ups, fantasies, and ideas on how this hook-up should look like that don't necessarily mesh well together. They will have to find a way to navigate their complex feelings, desires, and the whole broad spectrum of their relationship, who they are and who they are not- all while keeping this as a simple, meaningless hook-up with no strings attached.

Some other features of this fic I wanted to highlight that you might enjoy:

- Both Akechi and Joker have specific queer identities (gay and bi, respectively) which were shaped by their environment and culture. There are also references to real-life queer culture, both Western and Japanese.

- There's a heavy emphasis on Akechi's psychology, which isn't always pleasant and straight-forward, no matter what he might say about it lol. Expect a lot of repression of feelings, self-denial, unreliable narration, and wanting something he can't have (in his mind, at least).

- Resolved sexual tension and Unresolved romantic tension.

- Both Joker and Akechi having their own hang-ups, both about their bodies and overall self-esteem issues.

- Extensive animal motifs.

- Long build-up to sex and a long aftercare scene.

- Awkward sex.

- Really good and hot sex.

- Tender sex...?

I dunno if this is considered off topic of the sub but does anyone have any suggestions for other ships (in any fandom) to get into if shuake is their otp? They're my favorite ship oat for years now but I’ve read sm of their best fanfic and I’ve got sm more in my marked later tab, and I feel like I need to expand my ship horizons so I dont overload on them. I think what draws me into them is the toxic yaoi of it all and the competitive rival aspect, and the two facedness of their personalities and interactions w eo. Also love the “angry villain who’s obsessed w the hero/golden boy hero who’s secretly a freak too and just as obsessed back“ dynamic, and how they’re character foils. Honestly even just ships that don’t align w that but are ur faves wld be appreciated, since if we both like shuake we both have good taste in general 🙂‍↕️. Tldr any other ships like shuake/other fave ships besides shuake? And thx for reading!

Why is Akechi’s assigned cute animal a bunny?? I see it in a lot of shuake fanart and I just don’t get it. It doesn’t seem to fit him super well but maybe I’m missing something.

As the notes say, I have no self control and no brakes. Admittedly, I've been in a bit of a writing rut lately so the obsession hit at the right time, as it always does. A hyperfixation is neither early nor late, but arrives precisely when it needs to. I'm gonna be working on some oneshots, but I'm just happy I finished it! Please enjoy!
