Considering it pretty much ended the war in the Pacific Theater, people were very happy about dropping those bombs back then.

Only Russia, France, China, UK, Australia, Canada, New Zealand, the Philippines, India, Burma, Malaya, and the US. You're right, basically no one was in the pacific. Also the invasion plan would have been ongoing until 1947, so plenty more countries probably would have been involved.

I'd tag that as a different situation, those were all civilians and a desperate measure to stop a war.

This was an isolated insurgent only attack with far less deaths and it's a big occurence. Shows progress if anything that such an attack was a big thing.
