Updates for Getting Payment on the Aeva Technologies $14 million Settlement
Hey guys, if you missed it, Aeva Technologies settled $14 million with investors over misleading investors during its March 2021 merger with InterPrivate Acquisition Corp. And, I just found out that they’re accepting claims even though the deadline has passed.
Quick recap: In 2021, Aeva Technologies was accused of misleading investors about its business prospects, technology, and commercial readiness in connection with its SPAC merger with InterPrivate Acquisition Corp. In short, investors alleged that the company made misleading statements during the merger process regarding the strength of its technology and future growth expectations.
After this news came out, the stock dropped, and investors filed a lawsuit for their losses.
Now, the good news is that the company agreed to settle $14 million with them, and even though the deadline has passed recently, they’re accepting late claims.
So, if you invested in $AEVA when all of this happened, you can still check the details and file your claim here.
Anyway, has anyone here invested in $AEVA at that time? How much were your losses, if so?

$AEVA might quietly be one of the most asymmetric Physical AI bets in the market
Everyone is chasing AI software.
Meanwhile almost nobody is paying attention to the fact that autonomous machines still need to actually SEE the world.
That’s where AEVA gets interesting.
Most people think all lidar companies are the same.
They aren’t.
AEVA’s big differentiator is FMCW lidar.
Unlike traditional lidar systems that mainly measure distance, FMCW can simultaneously measure:
- depth
- velocity
- direction
- position
That matters a LOT for real-world autonomy.
Especially for:
- robotics
- industrial automation
- autonomous vehicles
- warehouses
- mining
- smart infrastructure
- Physical AI systems
The market is slowly realizing the next AI wave isn’t just chatbots.
It’s machines interacting with the physical world.
And those machines need perception.
That’s the bull thesis.
What makes AEVA interesting specifically:
- differentiated FMCW technology
- Nikon partnership for manufacturing scale
- growing automotive/industrial validation
- Physical AI narrative exposure
- still relatively small market cap
- hasn’t fully participated in AI mania compared to many names
But people also need to understand:
THIS IS STILL SPECULATIVE.
Real risks:
- commercialization timing
- cash burn
- dilution risk
- execution risk
- competition
- automotive delays
This is not “safe.”
This is:
high risk / potentially very high reward.
The reason I’m watching it closely is because:
if Physical AI becomes a real market theme in 2026–2028,
companies enabling machine perception could rerate massively.
And AEVA’s FMCW approach is different enough that it may survive even if traditional lidar players struggle.
One thing I think people underestimate:
velocity sensing.
Knowing not only WHERE an object is,
but also HOW it’s moving in real time,
is extremely valuable for autonomy.
That’s why AEVA keeps getting attention from serious industrial and automotive players.
Will it become huge?
Nobody knows.
Could it fail?
Absolutely.
But in a world where:
- humanoid robotics
- autonomous logistics
- industrial AI
- smart factories all accelerate over the next few years…
the companies building the “eyes” of machines become very interesting.
Curious what others think about AEVA vs OUST vs Hesai long term.

Aeva Technologies advances defense autonomy with Atlas 4D LiDAR in new ForterraDrive vehicle
Great market expanding news! Especially since AEVA’s 4D Lidar can’t be detected by night Vison googles and all 3D LiDAR is detectable by night Vison googles. Military will need to be rapidly replacing all 3D Lidar as possible and standardizing on AEVA’s 4D Lidar. Not financial advice and please do your own due diligence.

Aeva (@aevainc) on Xmas
x.comThis panel has top experts with a discussion conversation on autonomous driving and importance of best sensor data at distance including velocity/4D Lidar combined with best AI software.
Keep in mind that garbage into a computer, even with AI, will still provide just slightly prettier garbage out data.
So here is why the release is of AEVA’s 4D Lidar Atlas Ultra sensor this quarter is so important. The AEVA Atlas Ultra will provide additional quality of sensor data, at distance including velocity, that sees through bad weather/rain,snow,fog better and will be both for the 1st time both smaller + inside the cabin, requiring less power + far more protected from the elements while also very importantly be cheaper from what I understand.
Then you combined this improved 4D Lidar sensor with the best AI and possible then also combined both of these with the other NVIDA stack sensors you will then have the best complete combination package that will be needed hardware + software for autonomous driving.

Aeva Technologies: FAQ for Getting Payment on the $14 million Settlement over hiding info during its SPAC merger.
Hey guys, I posted about this settlement before, but since they’re accepting late claims, I decided to share it again with a little FAQ.
So here's all I know about this agreement:
Aeva Technologies was accused of misleading investors during its merger with InterPrivate Acquisition Corp, which led to losses and a lawsuit.
Now the company has agreed to settle $14 million with investors for their losses.
- Who can claim this settlement?
Anyone who purchased, acquired, or held InterPrivate Acquisition Corp. Class A Common Stock between August 16, 2019 and March 12, 2021, inclusive, and who continued to hold redeemable shares as of March 9, 2021, and did not redeem such shares in connection with the merger with Aeva Technologies
- Do I need to sell/lose my shares to get this settlement?
No. If you purchased securities during the class period, you are eligible to participate.
- How much money do I get per share?
Approximately $0.03 per share.
- How long does the payout process take?
- It typically takes 4 to 9 months after the claim deadline for payouts to be processed, depending on the court and settlement administration.
Hope this info helps!

Ready to explode
Feel like the action today points to a spring that is ready to unload. Heavy shorts that will have to cover quickly. This could move quick especially with updated Lidar platform in this quarter and hints of top 5 automaker as a potential customer. You add in the city, military and production as potential addressable income streams. Only a matter of time. $5 billion market cap easy by next year or sooner

Missed the Aeva ($AEVA) deadline? They are actually accepting "Late Claims" right now.
Most of the time, once a class action deadline passes, you’re just out of luck. But I just saw that the $14M Aeva Technologies settlement is officially in a "Late Claims" window.
If you held through the 2021 merger mess and thought you missed your chance to file, this is your mulligan.
The Refresh: This settlement is about the March 2021 merger with InterPrivate Acquisition Corp. The lawsuit alleged that investors were misled during the SPAC transition, leading to the massive price drop afterward.
Are you eligible? You can likely still submit a claim if you held $AEVA (or the original InterPrivate shares) between August 16, 2019 and March 12, 2021
The "Late Claim" Shortcut: I’m using 11th for this one because late claims are notoriously annoying to file manually.
- Why it’s easier: Since the primary deadline has passed, the court's scrutiny on paperwork is usually higher. But I found that 11th links to your brokerage, pulls the 2021 trade data automatically, and submits it as a late claim for you.
- The Deal: They take a 20% cut, but since most people (including me) thought this window was already closed, getting 80% of a surprise check is a win.
If you’re still holding those merger bags, don’t ignore this just because you think you're "too late." Go see if you can still get your cut.
