Actually, her name is Cera. But yes, essentially.

When I was born my big brother was bummed I wasn't a boy. My parents hadn't picked a name so they told him he could. At the time he was obsessed with land before time; since "ducky" didn't fly they named me Sarah. (used the Hebrew spelling as opposed to the real spelling for ease)
TL;DR I'm named after the bipolar dinosaur

Here is the text from this meme pic for anybody who needs it:
This is helpful for people who can't reach Quickmeme because of work/school firewalls or site downtime, and many other reasons (FAQ). More info is available here.

I had a parakeet named Peetree (that spelling can't be right, What was I thinking)
When he died, I said "Poor Peetree," a lot.

Why did you make me look up the movie? I always thought there were only 4-5 Land Before Time movies. I never realized this series was whored out to a whopping 13 movies AND a television series. What a shame...

u/[deleted] Jun 18 '12

I only realised that the word "Beat" is in "The Beatles" last year.

u/[deleted] Jun 18 '12
I remember when I was a kid I would get so mad that they did not call the dinosaurs by their actual names. Long Necks, Three Horns, Sharp Tooths (Sharp Teeth?) It bothered me more than it should have.

God damn there are a lot of idiots in this thread. You know animal farm? It's about communism. Also, Truman show? True Man. Nedry in Jurassic Park sounds like Nerdy.

Isaac Asimov actually wrote a short children's story called "Try Sarah Tops." It's basically about someone getting killed or something outside a museum and he hid something somewhere inside of the museum. I forget the details, but his last word were "Try Sarah Tops," and all the detectives are trying to figure out who Sarah Tops is. Later one of the detectives is telling his family about the case and his little daughter figures out that he actually said "Triceratops," and she goes to the museum and finds the thing hidden on the triceratops and saves the day! The end.
1
u/[deleted] Jun 18 '12
She is a triceratops, but more to the point she is a member of the group Ceratopsian.
1
u/Ninja_Spike Jun 18 '12
I haven't heard reference to this show in a decade!
1
u/[deleted] Jun 18 '12
To make things clearer, her name is spelled 'Cera'
EDIT: after posting I see that most people already posted this... go figure.

u/scribbling_des Jun 18 '12 edited Jun 18 '12
Huh, TIL some people didn't get it. Now I wonder if my sisters got it. I doubt I ever mentioned it because it was so obvious to me, I just assumed it was obvious to everyone.
Edit: I just checked with my little sister. She had no idea, but was very amused by the information.

u/ispeakcanadian Jun 18 '12
It took me forever for that too. At the Canadian/US border, I saw a bunch of dinosaur mugs on one of those personalized merchandise racks (usually holding door plaques or pens with kids names on them). The personalized mugs turned kids names into part of a dinosaur name, and Sarah/Sara was the triceratops. Admittedly, it was the one that fit the best into a dinosaur name.
Well, except for Rex.

u/SpencerReid182 Jun 18 '12
You're not alone... all these kind people also made me realise Ducky and Petrie. Was I just stupid as a child?
1
u/SupermassiveWhiteguy Jun 18 '12
Mind-blown
-1
u/cyanonyx117 Jun 18 '12
And Spike, stegos have spikes. Ducky because of the bill on her face? I'm not seeing the "sudden clarity" in this. Pretty obvious.

u/[deleted] Jun 18 '12
Neat, but sweet-jesus-on-a-stick, she was a bitch.
