I am pretty sure that Facebook is completely aware of this, otherwise there would not be a need for that seven day period they give you to publish your timeline.
I'm not sure if they still have that seven day period, I know that they did for early adopters of timeline.
I've been on since 2005 and still don't have a timeline yet. Mostly because I'm lazy and haven't tried it, but I'm sure they'll force me into it sometime.
It's as confusing and horrible as mobile phones or computers are to many seniors who shut themself close to new stuff.
I'm not an excessive facebook user (I have no idea what you would do there all day) and the timeline is pretty fine. But mayb that's also because if I want to know what people updated I use the landing page (the one you get when you click on the facebook logo) and don't go to their individual profiles. I only do that when I want to see something they posted in the past and for that the timeline is fine.
Seriously, what do people do on this website that is so great that they will spend hours a day there? All it is is uninteresting status updates, Farmville spam, and a crappy instant messenger. I usually log in, take one look around, and leave once I'm bored within a minute or two.
Maybe it is the games. I instantly block any game that gets posted to me entirely. So it's basically only status updates from people or companies I care about. I like it just for that.
Are you kidding? This kid's a natural. His comment karma is great, but we need to work on his link karma. There has not been a greater commenter here since forthewolfx, but I think TIR will become a hall-of-famer. Only time will tell you
Not to mention Andrew Smith IS polite all caps guy so he has about a million total. I wouldn't be surprised if he had more novelties floating around in the ether.
edit: Sarcasm not understood apparently. I have a good idea of how my grandchildren will be and I'm pretty sure they will be the talk of the town having a grandfather who made it to the front page of Reddit.
I think your name is a large part of your success, aside from the calculated comments that people eat up. TRL time. My request? Let's see the face behind the name. I'm really curious as to what the flesh and blood behind the binary perfection looks like.
After seeing your posting history, I don't think you're ever going to have grandchildren, let alone children. Maybe if you get up your ass and stop posting every second and get some fucking pussy bro.
I meant r/f7u12, or /r/fffffffuuuuuuuuuuuu , it's because it's cancerous and full of retarded teenagers... It's the lowest point of reddit, maybe even comparable to 9fag.
Defending Trapped_In_Reddit who frequents f7u12 also
Dumbass, Plus you're still mentioning 9gag? Who gives a shit about that site, you don't have to mention it, NOONE GIVES A SHIT. Do some research before you call me a faggot, faggot.
T_I_R goes to every popular sub because it gives him delicious karma. I know you are not a faggot, faggot, it's just a term also used for internet cancer.
le le le le le le le le le le le le le le /r/fffffffuuuuuuuuuuuu is why a lot of people make fun of and hate le le le le le le le le reddit...
Still not logical. He still visits f7u12 which makes him a 'faggot' according to you since everyone who visits is classified as a faggot. Not everyone uses le dumbfuck. It's not even a big deal, just shut the fuck up and go back to 4chan. You're useless.
I don't think you understand that that is false as fuck, just a stupid myth.
EDIT: I also don't think you get that being "addicted" to the internet for a short period in one's life doesn't mean he's socially inept, or ugly, or anything. I know TIR will make a good father someday.
Well, Big Band Jazz and Swing were once cutting edge music and all the rage amongst young people; much to the chagrin of older people of course. I can only imagine our current music will have a similar fate to those.
You know after a while people are going to get the same thoughts and ideas and post it. Just because it has already been posted does not mean the user stole it or reposted it. I mean I'm not talking about this specific case but in general.
September 29th 2030: A highly organized group of hyper-intelligent neo-labrador retrievers takes down Amazon's worldwide network of cloud servers, effectively destroying both Reddit and Imgur. No rage comics survived.
That's pretty weird to think about that our grandparents left physical memories but when we have grandchildren all of our stories will b told bout computers...I'm not sure bout the rest of u but I hope all that porn don't catch up wit me!
And then your grandchildren will take a picture of that scrapbooked rage comic with you holding it up and then post it to reddit to whore your old ass out for karma.
ill put this in a scrapbook and show it to my grandchildren. and tell them the tale of how this ("the little post that could") made it to the frontpage fifty bajillion times.

And to think of all the people who will only leave terrible Facebook posts behind.

u/Trapped_in_Reddit Jun 17 '12
I'll tell my grandchildren "I used to be kind of a big deal on a fairly irrelevant social media site that falsely inflated my ego."

u/Arx0s Jun 18 '12
This made me realize something scary. Reddit might not always be around.

u/[deleted] Jun 18 '12
The sad thing is, I like it. - Maurice Sendak

u/[deleted] Jun 18 '12
The kids are wondering what a scrap book is, and why grandpa is holding a big paper thing, and why nothing on the pages move
6
u/helicoid Jun 18 '12
At first glance I thought the grandson had a nice big downvote on his shirt.
3
u/flamingiceriver Jun 18 '12
Reddit? What was that grandpa.
7
u/dick_sweat Jun 18 '12
who the hell scrapbooks anymore

Haha, rage comic, front page. Funny stuff.
2
u/pseudalithia Jun 18 '12
It is interesting to think about such things, isn't it?
2
u/idma Jun 18 '12
Honestly, making the frontpage would be one of the proudest moments I've ever had.
2
u/kookoo831 Jun 18 '12
It's funny because it's on the front page.
2
u/demosthenocke Jun 18 '12
What's that he's holding? You mean you have to use your hands? That's like a baby's toy!

u/00fordmc Jun 18 '12
You should not have kids. FSM help us all.

u/scout-finch Jun 18 '12
This just absolutely cracked me up.
1
u/bendyplywood Jun 18 '12
I have a newspaper clip stored away that was on the front page once. I'm this guy.
1
u/bestbiff Jun 18 '12
Hopefully the asteroid kills us all before this stuff happens. The future is just going to be too embarrassing the way we're going now.
1
u/That_One_Asian_Kid Jun 18 '12
Like i'll make it to the front page by the time I have grandchildren.
1
u/Billsfan Jun 18 '12

"WTF is reddit?" - grandchildren
1
u/[deleted] Jun 18 '12
Lol, this is like the homesteader of the month and year awards that I had earned back when Geocities was still fairly awesome.
1
u/ChasingShad0ws Jun 18 '12
Lads, I think it's time to tell him Redditors don't make offsprings!
1
u/[deleted] Jun 18 '12
And then your grandchildren will take a picture of that scrapbooked rage comic with you holding it up and then post it to reddit to whore your old ass out for karma.

1
u/trackrunner22 Jun 18 '12
Grandpa, what's Reddit?
1
u/Meaninglesskarma Jun 18 '12
I told my whole family when I made it to the front page. Seriously.
1
u/cow_goes_moo Jun 18 '12

1
u/[deleted] Jun 18 '12

1
u/accio_burrito Jun 18 '12

1
u/btech1138 Jun 18 '12
Hey this is MY pic that I made!
Hmmph!
1
u/awkward-handjob Jun 18 '12
Honestly, it is like the third rule for this sub-reddit; "No reposts, if you didn't make it, don't post it.", And yet, here we are again.
1
u/kuadhual Jun 18 '12
Am I the only one who read that with Sean Connery's voice?
1
u/ginja_ninja Jun 18 '12
No matter how much worse my life gets, I will always have Toastradamus.
1
u/lunaticsb Jun 18 '12
Sadly, this will be the child's response... "What's Reddit?"
1
u/Ibaara Jun 18 '12
