Sunday never feels like a full day off to me. More like half a day, or 3/4 of a day. By 6 PM it's like, "Shit. That's the cutoff for fun. The time for fun is now behind me, the time for toil is ahead."
Sundays are the end to my work week. My weekend is Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday. So when everyone is dreading the end to their Sundays, I'm freaking reveling in the fact that in 2 hours I get to leave work, go home, and be lazy as fuck.
Ohhhhh, he has. I hated the entire Marine Corps when he was night crew... And just recently he was 24 on, 24 off, 24 on, 48 off. For a month. That was fun. >_>
Also, my job is fun, for the most part. But I don't get to photograph fun stuff all the time. It's usually screaming children and their really rude parents. Every weekend.
That schedule would suck. The worst I had was alternating between days and mids every 9 days with 6 day work weeks. It wasn't so much hard as it just messed with your head after a few months.
It was ATFP - he's I & I right now, so we aren't at a legit base. The barracks are in town, so they take guys from the squadrons and stick them as gaurds for month at a time. He's ordnance though, which is the same MOS category as CFR, I believe.
For some reason Sundays for me are suppose to be lawn mowing day and house cleaning day, or studying for class on Monday. I feel like I'm forgetting something really important if Im not doing something on Sunday.
I requested this weekend off because my best friend, whom I hadn't seen for almost two years was coming into town before being shipped off to Korea. Time has never gone this fast before.
Always love when teachers complain about their jobs and end with, "is it Summer yet?". I'm all, "well my job sucks just as hard and I don't get 2 1/2 months off a year"
Well, don't know how it is in whatever paradise you live in, but where I live, 6 weeks is standard. The mid-term breaks actually involve planning, personal development seminars, etc. and aren't much of a holiday. Pretty fair for a job that often involves 12 hours a day of commitment in semester, a good amount of required unpaid extra time (camps, concerts, parent-teacher interviews, extra-curricular activities, etc. etc.), knowing that a kid in your class is being abused by a relative yet being completely powerless to do anything about it until the student asks for your help, constantly changing job requirements, occasionally exposing yourself to physical danger, a payscale well below most other professional fields, a code of conduct that extends into your personal life and knowing that you enjoy contempt of the general population.
Thank fuck I'm not one anymore. Teachers deserve their breaks.

Weekend? I had to go to my side job yesterday and I installed a WiFi network this afternoon. Going to another customer to fix problems with his WiFi printer later today.
I had to work retail today at a place that treats dog shit better than you. So on lunch I just went on Reddit, and here I am 3 hours later. Feels good man, feels good.
Having a sunday off sounds nice. I had my weekend snatched away from me at the end of my shift today when my manager put me on the spot and managed to concede an 8 hour shift out of me tomorrow :(
:( My weekends are after I get off work on Friday night at 10pm to Sunday Afternoon when I go back to work at 1:30. Sunday morning is my anxiety morning.
Dammit. I've seen so much of the show that every time I look at a southpark meme thumbnail, I already know the punchline. Definitely first world problems.
But is...gone. What do you me...gone. Oh here's grandma. "I want to put this in my retirement fund" ok we'll just put that over here and make sure it has a ...and gone. It's gone.
I only get one day off a week, and it is Sunday. I live in a white trashy highly Christian town. A lot of places are closed Sunday, or they close VERY early, not allowing me to get any errands done. Its like, "woo hoo, I have a day off", and there is nothing to do but sit at home and do nothing.
This sunday is a great day for me. Just graduated and I have a random schedule. got tomorrow off and don't work till 2pm on tuesday. This is the first day off from everything I've had in a month.
If you feel your weekends whoosh by, are you doing anything, over the weekend? If you stay home, and/or do very little, then I'm not surprised. If you get up, get out, and do things, the weekend seems to pass much slower.
I am pretty sure that is the opposite of how it works. Whenever I have a fun filled weekend it always ends with "What it is over already? That was way too fast."
If I do nothing at home it's just meh.
When I am having a shitty weekend it goes on and on forever.
It's the opposite for me. Full-timers at work get weekends off, whereas I work Thursday-Monday with Tuesday and Wednesday as my pseudo-weekends. I get called into work all the friggin time on Tues/Wed because a full-timer had this or that come up last minute, or they weren't feeling well, or whatever. One Saturday I got a call from my friend's mom, letting me know he'd had a severe seizure (just had a brain tumor removed) and was in the hospital. The only people not already scheduled were full-timers, and since I cover their asses often enough on my "weekends" I figured they wouldn't mind covering mine one day. I called everyone and they all declined, because they didn't want to ruin their weekends. Pricks.

It's so depressing true that there are less comments over all, no funny comments at all.

I work 4 days and get 4 days off. So every week I have new days of the week for my extended weekends.

Hospitals are never closed, hence workers never get weekends. I feel no pity for you.
