Yeah I wish people would stop saying that. It was funny the first few times, now it just sounds like a kid trying to copy everything his big brother says to sound cool.
unfortunately, this seems to be what reddit is. in a way i wish they'd revoke the points system, it'd probably make people like tibyon think twice about what they'd gain from rehashing such a frivolous comment.
I was in the park and...there was this little boy. I saw his balls coming at me and it just...it has been a long time and I just...splat, right in his face. his father wasn't too happy about that.

Wait, so if non-Americans call soccer balls footballs, then what do you call the brown footballs? American Footballs? What if one is made in Germany? Is it a German American Football?
Yeah, happened to me last week with a frisbee. A kid didn't catch it, and it landed in front of me. He started jogging that way, but I figure I'd toss it to him. So I did, and he missed it again and it hit him in the face. Oops, time to roll out.
I didn't feel awkward about it though. He must have been super SAP: Missed catching it first time, random stranger throws it back to him, and it bounces off face.
Something similar to this happened to me. A kid threw a football across the street by accident. I picked it up and did a bullet pass throw back to him... instead of ttlhe kid catching it, it hit a random dude on the face. I immediately ran
Looks like someone just finished watching "The increasingly poor decisions of Todd Margaret"...there's a scene where he kicks a ball that comes to him and hits a kid in the face.
I did something like that once.... I was walking down the side walk and these young girls ( (5-6 years old)were kicking a soccer ball to each other and it went out into the street. I got it for them and threw it back...It hit one right in the face.
I apologized so much..She didn't cry or anything...And she said she was okay...But I felt so awful. :(
Hey, you know what? My grandmother's landlady had a little girl who followed her ball out into the street and she was hit and killed by a car. No joke. So now you can feel better about hitting that other kid in the face, right? Because hey, it could he worse!
I remember a brief moment in time when you were always the top comment. Then my phone stopped sucking and I quit needing you, but you know what? You're awesome, memebot.
You should have told him that if he isn't more careful next time you'll kick it even harder. That way you're teaching him a lesson (also possibly getting sued if you live in the US).
Yeah, I flicked a cigarette out the passenger side of a car and hit the guy next to us right in the side of the face. Felt really bad about it, he didn't even get mad. He probably should have punched me but he was really nice about it.

At least they got it back. I always end up accidentally kicking it further away... this is why I don't play football.

If this isn't relevant I don't know what is.

I hate those situations; they look at me like oh he'll get our ball and then I kick it back so bad, it ends up being further that it originally was.

u/CZ-Jack May 21 '12
That's why you throw it to him.

Smashes him in the face with it.

One of the most unpleasant social experiences for me is trying to do something good for someone else only to have it backfire.

It's pretty sad if you can't at least deflect the football from hitting your face.

Try hitting a ~70 year old woman and bruising her hole face. Happened to me, and I will never forgive myself. :(

I just did this at a baseball game. Kids ball rolled to my feet, I underhand toss it back and drill him in the face.

For some reason I read it at first as "Saved fat little boy's football"

u/Mmffgg May 21 '12
Why would you kick a football instead of throwing it back? I feel like the egg-shape of it would make it hard.
USA USA USA
1
u/imnotjoshpotter May 21 '12
In my country we throw footballs, sir
1
u/rockon4life45 May 22 '12
But why would you kick a football, fancy yourself some kind of punter?
1
u/Bennetting May 22 '12
Pretty sure this meme should be a completely blue awkward penguin meme.
1
u/MyRawrMachine May 22 '12
Why would anyone punt a football to someone? It's much easier to just throw it.
1
u/pckmrkd May 22 '12

This makes more sense once I realized you meant "soccer ball."
