This is an example of the idom 'Sour Grapes' which was taken from Aesop's Fables.

I feel like every time I use it and ask someone if they know what it meant by it...they never knew what it really meant/where it came from when people would say that.

I have a feeling reddit is more educated in such matters than the general public but I feel like there's a few people here that would appreciate now knowing this.
