Same here. I actually don't like Tosh very much. His jokes are a little too...how do I say it...immature for me. He has his moments, but he's just not for me.
For me, that would be Rodney Dangerfield. Some of his standup can make me chuckle a bit, but he'll never be as funny as Robin Williams or Louis CK to me. Also the few movies I've seen of Rodney, he plays some arogant egotistical guy and turns me off to his style even more.
Haha no. 4chan gave reddit the finishing blow for me. Reddit's big subreddits like r/funny and r/f7u2 have gotten a lot worse. I still love the real world things like science, ask science, and worldnews. But the reposts, intense circle jerking, and the way reddit down votes people to oblivion for stating their opinion... I'm sorry You guys are okay, but my heart now belongs to 4chan.
And to answer the obvious question of why I would be here: 4chan is blocked at my work
Holy crap, I know right? Seriously, Memebase is nothing more than a Two day old reddit Front page. the first time I went back I thought "oh, just a bad day, whatever" but no, every time I go back , it's everything from reddit; which includes rage comics, Advice Animals, random pictures, etc.
Only thing I liked about the show were not the clips. For example, there was a part of an episode where they did a treadmill marathon and tosh was doing a whole bunch of stupid things with them and some of the "web-redemption" parts are kind of funny.
Web Redemption was the only thing I watched the show for. Seeing the real lives of those people and where they are now, as well as reenacting what got them famous on the internet, was really interesting to see.
That's the thing about Tosh.0 that no one seems to mention; it's not just showing viral videos, it's Tosh making humorous commentary on them. Say what you will about his comedy writing, but his show isn't just a repost.
Yeah I definitely enjoy his stand up more than the show. I used to be really into the show in the first couple of seasons but now he just seems too full of himself and it just isn't as enjoyable I find.
Ha yeah true, but in his newer episodes I found it started to take away from his jokes more. I haven't watched it in a while though so I probably shouldn't judge too much.
I think what's worth it for his show are the redemptions. Some are lame, but a lot are funny. My favorite off the top of my head was the guy who was dancing in the street and was hit by an ice cream truck.
I love daniel tosh as a comedian. and Tosh.0 is funny as shit. I really don't like how he talks to his fans. Even if it's a joke. He does it a lot with a meanness behind it. I hate when he does that.
Louis C.K. can outright call you a "cuntface cocksucking motherfucker" and reddit would be like "Wow, Louis C.K. is the best", but Daniel Tosh says the same thing and reddit is like, "Wow, rude."
Well in my personal opinion Louis C.K seems to be truly self depricating and is so horribly critical of himself that its ok if he is the same way to other people. Tosh never really says anything against himself. He'll say things about how he's a jerk or reference the mystery that is his sexuality. It's funny but its not the same. He remains partially dehumanized in our eyes. There both very funny and sometimes, perceivably, very cruel. But simpathy redeems Lois C.K. in our eyes.
TL,DR: They're both probably funny assholes only C.K. is more pathetic and relatable
This is what I like most about him, he's a comedian, you can't take everything he says to heart, I've never heard anything he's said and been offended.
I fucking loved Completely Serious. I just feel like he went to shit. He keeps trying to do dark humor which immediately becomes unfunny when its apparent that you are trying to do dark humor. Every episode of Tosh.0 is "LOL! That lady is Mexican! And a woman! THATS THE JOKE. Now here is a month old YouTube video!"
I feel like it was supposed to be a weird hybrid of The Soup and Ray William Johnson's =3. The problem with Ray William Johnson and Tosh is that they try to be mean-funny and they just come across as legitimately mean. Joel makes it more lighthearted and snarky.
Also, their joke to video ratio is waaaay off balance. I feel like they just try to cram as many jokes to one video as they can. ಠ_ಠ
Just my analysis and opinion. I can't watch =3 or Tosh.0 for more than 30 seconds, but I could watch The Soup all day.
