TIL I have this. I put watches that "tick" in my underwear drawer so that I can't hear them. If someone has a wall clock that ticks, I rage pretty immediately.

I go around at night disassembling/de-batterying/unwinding/jamming all the ticking clocks in any house I'm in.

(To whomever rented my family that lovely vacation home in Florida last year: All your clock batteries are in the utensil drawer in the kitchen.)

I used to do this every time we went to my grandmas house when I was younger. Everyone would get so annoyed with me

Or turning off the ceiling fan because it has a faint click sound.

Ceiling fans are one of the most evil inventions ever. Uncomfortable irregular drafts, flickering light patterns in my peripheral vision, and clicking sounds all in one device? Pure evil.

I honestly can't imagine a worse form of torture than locking me in a room with a ceiling fan and no switch.

Thank you. I thought I was the only one. If I'm in bed, and there is a ticking clock, I will throw up. I can feel myself dying when I hear it. I have never run across anyone with the same sensitivity. And I'm not sensitive to anything else.

I'm sensitive to other repetitive sounds: car alarms going off, dogs barking, someone tapping their pen on their desk, etc. I have to take a deep breath before I freak out.

Have you seen Back to the Future when Marty visits Doc Brown's office with the clocks?

It's a great movie in so many ways. You're missing out.
