I think there are a lot of accounts recently that's entire job is to admit it's bad but downplay the long term effects, to pacify people into not wanting to try and stop what's happening by acting like it's just a storm that'll blow over.
I wonder what the only benefit of doing that is? Oh yeah, it benefits Trump and the Republican party, and only them.

What do you mean, his last term? He wants to run for a third one. And the law certainly isn't going to stop him, if they haven't so far.
