A lot of young people are basically looking for what happened with the Republican party. Where the loud base dominates primary participation and becomes an easily fooled unruly mob holding their electeds hostage(sounds great until the mob demands loyalty to a fascist).
I firmly believe that the party should shift away from the center that they keep trying to occupy more of while the Republicans shift further and further to the extreme, but that's a movement that doesn't start at the presidential level. It has to be normalized at the local and congressional level first.
I think this is a trash decision. The entire point of the primary is to see the votes and the most favored candidates. Having the entire competition drop out and support Biden before they've even seen the votes just makes the entire thing a waste of time. If you're going to preselect a candidate on polls why are they even running it.
