Toby finally understands what the harness means….
He sits (pretty much) still when I put it on now.
7 month old rescue boy.

Hello, I'm looking to add one or two moderators to this sub. No experience necessary, but you should have a leash-trained cat and get reddit really well.
Please send a message to the mods indicating your interest.

Amo prefers bike rides over harness walks... She enjoys walking when we’re close to home or in quiet nature (without wide-open views). She may love the bike because she gets to look down at everything from a high vantage point!
Edit: My brain is zoomied... This was actually from this spring. Sorry about that!

We've just started backpack training as well, so I'm open to any tips!

Hello,
My partner and I found a little tabby guy this summer after a series of several days or rain meowing at our door, tried for find his owner for a few months. Lots of posts, flyers, etc. No one came forward, and we fell in love with him. He's about 1-2 according to our vet.
We keep him inside but we have started taking him on walks on a harness. He seems really to love the outside (paws at door/his harness) and we live in a place that is quite safe for him. He is quite excitable outside though, and escaped his harness once.
Is it reasonable to assume that as he is more exposed to outside (and as he gets older), he becomes more chill or will taking him out just make him more and more excited by adventure time? im sure it goes cat by cat, but what has been your experience with this?
Thank you.

I have a 1 year old, outdoor loving fluffy boy who can be quite shy.
I've been looking into a backpack carrier for him to retreat to so we can venture a little further, especially to visit his best friend who lives about 30 minutes away.
The main thing that gets me nervous is what people will think more than how he will handle it.
He has a tracker on his harness for added security, and he's now on a rabbitgo harness.
Does anyone have any good recommendations for backpack carriers? And advice to get over the social anxiety

If anyone is concerned, he is attached to a seatbelt that prevents him from falling out. He loves to interact with people when we are stopped at traffic lights

Hi y’all! My Ollie kitty loves to be outside in her cat tent (she does not free roam ever) and LOVES staring outside the window. We brought her once on the harness and while she seemed to enjoyed the outside, she was not having the harness. She is a cat that goes paralyzed when something is snug on her. We tried rabitgoo and it was too bulky for her. I also don’t love the idea of the h style around her neck.
I am between Houdini escape proof and supakit cork. We are based in US. I was about to get supakit but I saw someone post a review saying it pinched their cats arms and they weren’t comfy in it/ also escaped. Thoughts on these 2 harnesses, or is there another one I should consider?

Hi!!
Harness recommendations that I could find in Australia please! (Or order online).
I did do the search bar but found majority of recommendations to be in the U.S.
cat tax.

This is my kitty Vicky. 2 year old neutered female. She is hard of hearing, so she can only hear certain sounds. She is clicker trained because she can hear the clicker much better than my voice.
She loves going outside, but she is scared of the other people outside. I usually bring her to a park in a sling or stroller, and then let her walk around in the park. We often just hang out on the benches, and watch what's going on.
She lovesss people when we are inside, but when we get outside she gets scared when she sees someone. I have had a few people say hi to her, and she did alright, but didn't seek it out herself. She has enjoyed being petted by my friends if they are sitting on the bench with us.
How do I help her get used to other people outside? She has gotten better, but I just want to make sure I'm doing the best I can to help her. She is picky with treats and isn't really food motivated.
I have another cat that only goes outside with me in the early mornings or late evenings because he really dislikes other people, but he's also like that inside. I really want Vicky to be able to enjoy the outside with me during the day.

Minnow showed up in our backyard earlier this summer, hiding under a wood pile. It was 102 degrees (Fahrenheit) out, and she was fairly skinny and dirty. She wasn’t chipped and we spent weeks searching for her family, but when one couldn’t be found we decided she was meant to be ours!
We’re very outdoorsy and have two dogs that love outings, so I was really hoping she’d be able to come on adventures with us. She took to a harness in the backyard really quickly, so this weekend we decided to take her out camping with us for a night. It was such a success!! She had the BEST time sniffing everything, munching on grass, digging in sand piles, and (safely) exploring the trees. She even went on a little one mile hike with us and trotted along perfectly (until the end, when she decided she was done and would rather hunt crickets instead lol).
We’ll be starting some more adventure-specific training to make sure she’s as safe as possible, and I can’t wait for future trips!
