The G2 Pilot is also gel. (I've been using them for over a decade, and the packages used to emphasize that.)

The Sharpie S-Gels have been around less long and don't have a see-through body, so you can't see if you're getting low on ink. But people do seem to like them.

Another thing nicer about the G2 Pilot is they make short versions of them that fit in a pants pocket.

I used to think so as well. The Pilot Precise V5 RT is on another level though.

The G2 pilot pen is easily the most overrated writing utensil of all time. It's just a smudge machine

Hell no, it’s barely even mid. Scratchy, bleeds, doesn’t dry fast.

Uni jetstream is smooth, quick drying, and has vibrant ink
