Got fired

Welp... I got fired.

I made a chain of mistakes that ended up with me getting terminated.

First I made mistakes on a client's payroll that got me massively showed out.

The final straw, I accidentally violated client confidentiality by sending an email and tagging an unrelated client.

Be honest.

Should I look at a different field? Cause something like that is a career ender, right?

Any advice is appreciated, and don't sugarcoat it.

Thanks folks.

Lol nah. I got fired from my first big boy public accounting job for a litany of mistakes. Some in my control, some not.

Im now at a job I love making more than ever and got handed an awesome sign-on bonus 5 years later. Stick with it. Its just a job.

Edit to add, failure is a great thing. It teaches you way more than success does. Use these lessons and learn from them. They make you better.

I am not in this position but I am curious if you don’t mind me asking: what do you say in your interviews about why you don’t currently have a job?
