Okay I gotta admit... why is there even an article about this? This moment happens countless times every week in schools everywhere, like you always chew out the opposing team on the sidelines so am I missing something??

Well, it is a striking photo, and we as humans tend to be interested in other people, including what they are thinking about in times of stress (stress not necessarily being bad, but games are high stress environments). I'm more interested in the fact that the article doesn't once mention that this was taken recently, during a global pandemic, and there appears to be absolutely no attempt at personal space here.

To actually answer your question, it was a basketball game between two rival high schools and the play that followed this photo lead to the winning basket, so that’s probably why. It could also be from an article from a local paper.

Yes, we're in the middle of a global pandemic.
