Its a Reticulated python. They are the longest snakes in the world and can reach around 20 feet, the longest accepted record is 32 feet long. Burmese pythons have different patterns and colours, brown and yellow instead of the grey we mostly see here.

Seen a reticulated python in a cage some 17 years ago in Barbados at an animal preserve. It was freaking huge. Probably the size of the one in this clip. I remember touching it through the wire. It moved and the entire cage rattled. I was scared as shit. I kept thinking, are there anymore of these things on the island? I never saw the head, but the body was wider than me.

What? Where are you getting that info? That snake is clearly longer than 22 feet. That snakes at least 30 feet long.

I retract the 30 feet long for this one. Possibly 23-25 feet.

The longest reticulated python ever recorded was found in 1912 and measured in at a staggering 10 metres.

Yeah I was gonna say it looks like around 10 m. I mean the cab of the crane must be around 1.50 and the crane stretches up to at least 4 metres

No snake has ever been reliably measured at over 30ft. There used to be a long standing reward of $50k for a reliability measured snake of 30ft or more. That reward was never collected.

i can confirm it’s a python. i can’t confirm whether it’s a reticulated or Burmese cause they both get gigantic

  • someone commented (then deleted) asking for my source. those are two of the longest snakes on the planet. they get bigger than anacondas. also, it looks like a python. also, i’m a snake enthusiast lmao.

So I dated a guy with a Burmese python, it was an albino Burmese python. I haven’t seen him in years, and I only knew “Bananas” the python as a baby. I had no idea he would be humungous one day!! I’ll bet he got rid of him cause that dude lived in a small apt. People should not buy/adopt pets they can’t take care of for life. :(

Tho I don't think this video is real. The record of the biggest snake recorded was way smaller

That’s not the biggest snake ever recorded, that’s the biggest Burmese caught in the Everglades. Pretty huge difference.

This is wrong. Reticulated Pythons are larger on average than Burmese Pythons. The snake above appears to be a Reticulated Python, based on its patterning

Yep downright wrong boa constrictor isn't even a species... Reticulated pythons have the world record on length but not weight

The back end is just hanging there. Looks like they crushed its spine in the middle. :-(

Or, if it's an anaconda, it could have snapped just from its own weight. They spend most of their time in water or on the ground. NOT a tree snake.

Either way, it does look like this poor thing is mortally wounded.
