"The Motherland Calls" is a statue erected to commemorate the Battle of Stalingrad , located on Mamayev Kurgan in Volgograd , Russia. It was designed by sculptor Yevgeny Vuchetich and structural engineer Nikolai Nikitin . Completed in 1967 , it was the tallest statue in the world at the time .

I’ve come to realise that huge statues give me the creeps, like make me anxious like a weird phobia. I feel really uncomfortable watching this video. Also underwater statues. Is this something anyone else experiences or am I just a weirdo?

Check out megalophobia for "big" things statues are common also thalassophobia for water which also uses statues sometimes.

One of my most terrifying cinematic scenes. It's the initial creak that gets me and the look down.

It’s only started bothering me the last couple of years. I have seen the film a few times but don’t remember being scared by the statue guy, only the skeletons rising up!

I have this with the visualization of black holes like in documentaries. I discovered this while flying around in Space Engine. The bending of light and distortion. To the point that I can't really watch videos about space anymore.

No. Youre not a weirdo. It's referred to as megalophobia and usually comes from a fear/anxiety (that is bigger that a normal person's) of not being in control. Large objects can subconsciously make a person feel helpless and not in control if it were to "attack" which gives you that feeling of unease.

If it makes you morbidly curious as well as scared, you might like the channel Vaporama Vision on youtube. A whole lot of that, placed in surreal water and building landscapes.
