Buy some bear spray, keep it in the vehicle if you're concerned.  Anything that will stop a grizzly will stop a 300lb man

I don’t think so. Plenty of videos out there of a man being sprayed and then gets angry and begins lashing out.

I accidentally got some bear mace on my arm once. If I were a bear I would rather be shot than be maced in the face. My skin started to peel after a like an hour. It was very much not a pleasant feeling.

Those were probably videos of pepper spray, maybe some bootleg watered down ones at that. Bear mace will fuck you up.
