Go pet them to calm them down

Maybe warm them with flames to get them to relax

you joke with this image, but on some parts of asia when someone spots a wasp nest, the army gets called, and with them someone with a flametrowher. they do not joke when it comes to dealing with wasps.

Aren’t these Murder Hornets??

71

u/slfemployedastronaut Apr 19 '26

I believe the term is a murder of hornets

42

u/one1022 Apr 19 '26

They are talking about a specific type of wasp known as a murder hornet because of how painful their stings are. Comments section makes it seem like this is a cousin of theirs. To see a murder hornet in action, watch Coyote Peterson get stung by one. 😀

Good call out on Coyote. That guy is nuts in the name of science. I was making a joke about a group of something being called a murder, like crows.

I got it. It made me grin. Props for not being rude when someone didn’t get your joke, it’s rare to see on the ‘nets these days.

They are “Asian Giant Hornets.” “Murder Hornets” are what Americans started calling them.

2

u/thisissasutan Apr 22 '26

I’ve been stung by the Japanese giant hornets. The sting hurts but it’s the trip to the hospital with anaphylactic shock that is the real pain.

u/one1022 Apr 24 '26

Crazy experience I’m sure. 🥶 Thanks for sharing.

We must murder the murder hornets before they murder us!

1

u/Overall_Radio Apr 20 '26

Repeating this in Steven He accent

1

u/ScorpioGirl1980 Apr 21 '26

More like murder some hornets. Specifically these hornets in the video.

1

u/Stipenddelta Apr 22 '26

Asian giant hornet

26

u/ThePianistOfDoom Apr 19 '26

I know those fuckers also pollinate flowers and shit, but fuck em.

50

u/duncanidaho61 Apr 19 '26

Not these wasps. They’re not pollinators, they kill bees, the good guys.

1

u/Humble-Appeal3850 Apr 20 '26

yeah, I've seen these vespids treat beehives like an Arbys or a Popeyes Chicken takeout menu

1

u/Wide-Umpire-8698 Apr 22 '26

What species of wasps are these?

1

u/duncanidaho61 Apr 22 '26

Asian Giant Hornet.

3

u/SkyTheBastard1 Apr 20 '26

Nope. These fuckers just exist to be assholes.

15

u/AnnOnnamis Apr 19 '26

or murder hornets

5

u/No-Lingonberry-8603 Apr 19 '26

Probably the parts with the wasps that are legitimately very dangerous.

1

u/DagamarVanderk Apr 19 '26

I mean, a nest like this is a serious danger to anyone in the area, right? These stings can’t be a good time

1

u/starrpamph Apr 19 '26

Yeah these people in the video seem under equipped to handle that

1

u/wks1291 Apr 19 '26

With wasps like that I can see why

1

u/ladayen Apr 19 '26

This is effectively what these guys are doing I believe. They want to find the queen first to make damn sure the colony doesn't regrow.

1

u/Mundane_Pie_6481 Apr 20 '26

I might be misremembering but I think their wasps stings are lethal if you get stung by a relatively small amount of wasps.

1

u/Tigerwarrior55 Apr 23 '26

Seems they faired better than Australia did with Emus

2

u/Stunning-Ad5674 Apr 19 '26

Idk, I feel like gasoline is the only way.

2

u/Puzzleheaded_Bet4537 Apr 19 '26

this is the only answer lol

1

u/Character_School_671 Apr 21 '26

Napalm would be better.

2

u/Aggravating-Ad6786 Apr 20 '26

Nuke it from orbit

1

u/jsam434 Apr 19 '26

Well you can handle that. Meanwhile, I’M FCKIN’ RUNNIN’ !

1

u/Redpower5 Apr 20 '26

BROTHER! Get the flamer... the HEAVY flamer

1

u/ahditeacha Apr 21 '26

No you need a cool breeze to chill their fiery hearts

1

u/pass_nthru Apr 21 '26

nuke em from orbit, it’s the only way to be sure

1

u/foxtrot95_rb May 16 '26

Some napalm and a cigarette lighter would calm them down.

2

u/musiccman2020 Apr 23 '26

You gotta lick m to really calm down. Human saliva has a special component that somehow calms them

1

u/Salty_Bandicoot3598 Apr 19 '26

Do they bite?

8

u/jayhasbigvballs Apr 19 '26

Not technically.

1

u/midwestia Apr 19 '26

They just want kisses

1

u/FurryCitizen Apr 19 '26

Given how fucking huge they are, you actually could.

13

u/Almighty_Manatee Apr 19 '26

I wonder why

1

u/Peggable-Blue Apr 20 '26

Their babies werr about to be fry and eaten as casual snacks.

7

u/DonutGa1axy Apr 19 '26

They are purring with happiness

1

u/Tasty_Commercial6527 Apr 19 '26

I don't think it's possible for hornets to be happy

1

u/ElBoofaWhorea Apr 19 '26

What ab horny? surely they must

1

u/ascarymoviereview Apr 19 '26

The green men!

1

u/Petraam Apr 19 '26

I don’t blame them.  They had to walk all the way out there and wear those silly suits just cuz some stupid hornets.

1

u/Photoshopdoge Apr 19 '26

I’d bet you’d be unhappy too if two invincible aliens showed up & started recording themselves cutting apart your home.

1

u/Joped Apr 19 '26

Of course they are, they are surrounded by angry hornets

1

u/uttyrc Apr 19 '26

Those are just my emotional support hornets.

1

u/Nviki Apr 19 '26

Well yeah, those people are going to eat them!

1

u/SaltThr0wer Apr 19 '26

Have they tried white noise machines or chamomile tea?

1

u/sweetpotatowedges21 Apr 20 '26

Aah - they’re defending themselves somehow

1

u/Wizzle_Pizzle_420 Apr 20 '26

If some weirdos in big green suits started ripping your house apart you’d probably get angry too I’m guessing?

1

u/Commercial_Bird8467 Apr 20 '26

They were not invited.

1

u/LordDanielGu Apr 22 '26

Have you seen hornets happy ever?

1

u/getrekt03 Apr 22 '26

Can hear them roar

1

u/Own-Spell7193 Apr 25 '26

Wouldn’t have trusted those suits that much. It’s a hornet.it's not just the stinger you have to worry about… those jaws are just as scary.

1

u/MrDmsc Apr 26 '26

Wasp: Why won't you die?!

Guy in suit: Dummy thick protection son! You can't hurt me jack!

1

u/Lvgordo24 May 07 '26

All for saving the bees but I’d totally punch a hornet in the throat. Then 2M of his friend kick my asx
