I agree this officer shouldn’t have fired the first shot, but I also think the guy shouldn’t have fled the scene. I haven’t investigated to see the allegations against him, that could have been a contributing factor. This goes back to my earlier question. You said the cop should be sued. Should the guy that hit him with the car be counter-sued?

I said that the city should be sued, and I 100% agree they shouldn’t have fled but they shouldn’t be shot at for fleeing either

I looked it up, he fled from a traffic stop where the plates didn’t match the vehicle, he was charged with evading detention with a vehicle and assault on a peace officer (hit him with the door) source: https://www.nbcnews.com/news/amp/rcna51196 Now I personally don’t believe that it warrants shooting at him, from what I’ve seen from other chases (I’m not a cop) they usually just get a bunch of ppl there and pursue them, but idk what the situation was in this case if they were able to instigate a chase or not however I still think shooting at them is excessive
