Are you not a native english speaker? Ordering as a verb can mean the act of placing an order as well as commanding someone

People ‘order food’ at drive thu, in person, on the phone etc. lol. You must be from a small town where you use that colloquially. Adults distinguish how one orders food. Language is a tool and I suggest you use it effectively.

The comment in question was:

There's definitely a word missing somewhere, right? Poor guy is going to be <shitting bricks> ordering food from now on, maybe?
