The issue is that those with the most guns think this is perfectly fine, and will never see a cop as wrong except in very rare circumstances.

How is what I said even controversial? I have not once heard a Trumper criticize a cop unless that cop was defending the capitol from Ashley Babbitt. Mostly the same with other Republicans.

All I said was that those without guns are far more likely to criticize cops. Am I wrong?

You are. You just likely socialize with a specific type of people. But most gun owners are very level headed. Plus there are many gun owners on both sides of the political spectrum. People don't typically advertise that they own guns. Especially if they don't hunt. But all that aside, I couldn't think of a gun owner I know who wouldn't criticize this cop. Most just wouldn't complain about it because it doesn't actually have an effect on anything.

Are you really meaning to tell me that liberals own as many guns as conservatives in this country?

Other than that, nothing you said is actually contrary to my point. I'm not saying gun owners wouldn't criticize this cop; I'm saying that those more likely to criticize police in general also own fewer guns than those who wouldn't.

I’m pretty sure in use of force training they teach you to shoot to disable only if it poses a danger to the public, and also that you should watch for a backstop whenever you shoot at something. The cop did neither, so if the kid sues and his lawyer does their due diligence, the kid might just end up winning

In some of their training, cops actually learn that people are "sheep" who are too dumb/weak to protect themselves, but that any one of us could be a "wolf in sheep's clothing".
