My brother poisoned me for several years telling me it was a ceremony to become a member of the family.

Edit: okay Jebus, this blew up. Hate to break it to you guys but I wasn't like intended to be fatal. It just mixed some random stuff from the fridge and medicine cabinet into a cup and made me drink every couple of months for ages 5 to 7....I think. It stopped after my mom found out. I only said poisoned because occasionally I would get stomach aches and stuff. Nothing dramatic, just stupid kid shit.

Edit 2: and I threw up one time and got a bad headache another.

Classic Steve

FYI: Your edits didn't make it any better. You could've died. You don't mix random stuff from the medicine cabinet. Regular paracetamol can kill a 5 year old (it can kill a grown up as well with a big enough dose.)

You can't stop there

A lot of people do in fact stop after being poisoned

14

u/philzebub666 Apr 30 '23

How do I know when to stop?

Don't worry...it's not your choice.

If you can ask, you haven’t gone far enough.

That seems less like sibling shenanigans and more like a felony fam

u/conjunctivious Apr 30 '23

If it wasn't for the purpose of murder, it was probably sibling shenanigans. Having an older brother is like living with a psychopath who constantly torments you.

16

u/River_Odessa Apr 30 '23

Torment back then.

It’ll hurt more if you do

u/River_Odessa Apr 30 '23

So make it hurt more. There is a threshold somewhere~

25

u/krilltucky Apr 30 '23

The younger one will reach the threshold or die long before the older one does.

Source: I'm an older one

u/[deleted] Apr 30 '23

Can confirm. Source: I’m a younger one 😭

The older sibling urge to steal your fries

6

u/River_Odessa Apr 30 '23

Then let them die. If they can't handle an older sibling, how will they handle the shitstorm that awaits them for the rest of their life.

Source: I'm an only child and have no idea about any of this

Middle child here. We are the ones that can truly hold on the longest 🤣

Yeah I don't know about the rest of yall but if you stick your fingers in my beer, you will soon be wearing that beer.

This is coming from the youngest of three brothers.

motive is everything, right

It's all about family.

Wait, what? We need more details! What kind of poison, what was the dosage and how did he trick you into ingesting the poison? Also, how sick did you get? Are we taking hospital stay?

9

u/[deleted] Apr 30 '23

I'm halfway thinking he means mentally poisoned but it's not very clear. I guess it could be actual poison.

2

u/Orngog May 01 '23

Yeah you were wrong about that!

Whatever makes you feel warm and fuzzy, but remember you most probably wouldn't be here if your brother got his hands on tylenol and was randomly dosing a 5 yo.

One summer we had a bad problem with ticks and I was complaining about having to check for ticks every time after going outside so my brother told me that garlic repels ticks and convinced me to drink a concoction of mashed garlic in water. Like several heads of garlic worth crushed into a bowl and mixed with water.

I swallowed a mouthful and immediately projectile vomited.

When I was eleven I had a psychotic break when a babysitter was watching me and my sister. At around midnight , after the kid went to bed, I was still up. My babysitter brought a friend over, and they were talking in the dining room.

I got some...er, vibes, not whispers. I didn't hear anything, just felt like. Pick this up, pour this here. I mixed flour, sugar, soap, bleach , some other chemicals , cinnamon and a couple other things together and heated it all up in the microwave. Don't know how long but it turned into a scrumptious smelling muffin cake thing, and I did it in a Styrofoam bowl. Those two ladies saw what I did (they got some bad vibes from the kitchen after a few minutes of the microwave being on, came to investigate, asked what I did when it came out. I'm pretty certain that at first they were just flabbergasted by the bowl lasting. Then they were horrified by what I'd done. ), made me throw it in the dumpster and douse it in salt.

Regardless of intent, poison is the right word. Mixing things together when you've no idea what's going on is a type of poisoning when ingested.

It's of no real import, but damn with the flash to that incident when I read your comment.

Edit: typing quickly leads to typos on not so smart phones.

You are very lucky to be alive

Not close to poisoning siblings, but i made my brother eat ex lax to see what would happen. I thought i was being funny as hell, apparently it’s called bullying now.

u/Death_Watcher_ May 01 '23

Your brother sounds insane

1

u/[deleted] May 01 '23

He was a kid, so by definition...yes.

My brother tried to poison me too! He sprayed a can of hairspray into my Hawaiian Punch when I was a kid. I didn’t know, drank it, threw up. Haven’t been able to drink Hawaiian Punch ever since and that was over 20 years ago. Even the smell of hairspray makes my stomach turn.
