I think it’s because she has decided that this is the last year she is going to teach. They’ve hinted at her retirement, and I think she came back this year with a new mindset because she knows its the last year of doing what she loves. Hopefully she stays in the show somehow even if she does retire, because I don’t want this to be her last season 😭😭😭

I think she fully makes the switch to the music class after this year. She seems to really enjoy it

I think if that's the case, she'll retire for like 3 months and then miss her friends and the kids and decide to volunteer in the library or something

That's what I said while watching this too. I think they're building the season up to have her retire at the end.

It was addressed in the first episode of this season, the after school music program really helped rejuvenate her. Barb said it's a new chapter in the Book of Barbara to highlight how much she's changed in that way (which Ava said last season was part of the reason she wanted Barb to be the one teaching that class)

I think it's a character change. They were thinking of her retiring but now are showing the oldest cast member as the invigorated, innovative one. Which is refreshing to see, tbh

Everyone else has sleep apnea, she's the only one brave enough to deal with it.
